How can I apply for a National Trust family pass ticket?

We're giving away 75,000 National Trust family day passes up until Thursday 3rd August 2023, OR when all of the passes have been claimed. Don’t forget to share with family and friends for their chance to get a family day pass.

What is a 'family pass'?

A family ticket allows 2 adults and up to 3 children or 1 adult and up to 4 children to enter a National Trust site for free on a one-time basis. You don't need to use all the tickets to visit, so 2 adults can also use it alone!

Where is the pass valid?

The free family pass is valid in National Trust properties within England, Wales and NI - although there are some exclusions. Please note that the National Trust Scotland is a separate organisation and Scottish properties are not included within this offer. To see these exclusions, click here.

How long do I have to use my free family pass?

You can use your pass at National Trust properties included from Monday 24th July until Friday 25th August, 2023.

Does the ticket cover parking?

The ticket does not cover any parking charges that may be applicable at the property you choose, it only covers entry to the venue.

I am already registered to receive the InYourArea newsletter, am I still eligible to apply for a pass?

Of course, just use the email address that you are registered with us to enter.

How many times can I use my family pass?

The pass is valid for one family ticket for one visit to a National Trust venue of your choice from the locations available.

How do I book at pre-bookable National Trust sites?

a. How to book at a bookable property:

i. Visit the property’s website, click ‘Book a Visit’

ii. Select a free membership ticket and when asked for your membership number type ReachPLCFreeAccess

iii. Complete the transaction and you will receive a confirmation email. If you only select the free members tickets, you will not need to enter your debit/credit card details and you will not be charged.

iv. Bring along both your booking confirmation and the email with the your free family day pass. Present these both to the National Trust team member on arrival.

b. Without both the booking confirmation and the free family day pass we cannot guarantee entry, and without the free family pass (email or cut-out) you will not receive free entry and will be charged the full admission price.

Excellent. My barcode begins with 1200 and ends with 2005. Can anyone confirm if this is the same barcode for everyone like the last deal?
    TisTriv's avatar
No barcode number on my email but a Google Lens does show 1200 at the start and 2005 at the end.

I think they're struggling for members since their focus turned all towards slavery and diversity etc. and they got rid of a load of their volunteers.

I used to be a member but left when all that kicked off, now just use these free ones until they start focussing on preservation again.

What? They use slaves now instead of volunteers? I'm surprised they get away with it. I have noticed a slight dip in quality with the cheese scones lately. I wonder if it's down to that? (edited)

Thanks OP, visited a few National Trust places this year, used one barcode pass several times over with no questions asked. It's the gift that keeps on giving!

Good stuff. We have visited Churchill's Chartwell house, Stourhead house and gardens, Knighthayes Court and gardens, Tyntesfield and Dunster Castle all using free NT family day passes in the last year.

It’s still good business for the NT with free passes. Last time we used a free pass to visit Clevedon House. The weather was hot, so end up having coffee breaks and ice creams. That is money for the NT.

The offer states ‘single use’, with the offer last time I’m sure the barcode was the same regardless of the email used. So what’s to stop you using for multiple times between the validity dates?

    Nothing

I’m a bit confused. I’ve downloaded the In Your Area app and there’s nothing showing any National Trust venues. I’ve just got local news, events and properties for sale. How do I view National Trust choices?
