    You can also get tapo smart bulbs and just leave the switch ON when you leave. I alos got a router with a sim card @ £7/month as a backup for my wifi.

    No, you need 4 smart plugs. One for each device.

    It's the certification costs for humans, like the premium added to certified HDMI cables.

    Better to pay more and be safe. Who knows what an uncertified device could do?

    slightly off topic, but i purchased the Tapo wifi cam & it was super easy to set up, and i have got 2 more, only 1080p but on a phone, its no issue for me..about £29.99 inc a Kingston 128gb card

    Best one I use I have a 4 way gang socket plugged into one of these. I then have that running outside into a weather proof box. Now I can tell Google to turn on all
    My garden lights.

    If you haven’t used these sockets then please buy some and get using them.

    Can you connect to these when away from the home Wi-Fi network?
    Or can you only set /programme from the app if the plugs and the app are connected to the same Wi-Fi network?
