The elite gamers are probably going to have a field day rubbishing this keyboard (mainly because of it's switches) but find a keyboard here or in China that has the same specifications for a tad over £46.

So I've used this keyboard for a couple of days now (blue clicky switches) and although the Gixian switches won`t sound as good as Cherry or Gateron they use hot swappable 3 pin (5 pin compatible) so you can swap out for something better.

Now the elite gamers are also going to say that the keyboard construction must be bad, but to be honest it has a nice weight, the keys are perfectly spaced (& use double shot keys rather than cheaper and less resilient ABS) and it has all the essential keys (including arrows and a lovely alloy volume knob (Ooo errr)

Other specs are: limited RGB but has some good static backlights, 4000mah battery and USB charging.

Lastly a touch over £46 for a UK layout keyboard with any kind of hot swappable switches. wifi, BT5 and long standby as a bargain as bare (identical) DIY keyboards are more money (£20 more) and you need to use your own switches and key caps.

True, but show me a cheaper one with the exact layout of keyboard with the same specifications, that can be bought for the price of this + some better switches, stabs and keycaps.
All I can find below £100 that 'match' this specification, layout but uses better caps and switches is the EPOMAKER keyboards and then you have to step up to Corsair and Logitech which cost £130+.

Genuinely do not understand the appeal of these loud keyboards.

    Please can you advise?

The annoyance factor cannot be dismissed. It's the same reason why I eat hand cooked crisps at the cinema along with cereal.

Doesn't seem to be uk layout, no pics of iso enter

It's a UK layout as I am using it right now.

Yeah that's an ANSI layout board not ISO even if the legend maybe in the correct location for £ etc
Swapped to ANSI because of cheap boards like these myself and honestly it doesn't bother me anymore anyways.

With a couple of mods I can imagine this will sound a little better, and feel a bit nicer too. Even a nice cheap set of PBT caps can work wonders

Looks perfectly acceptable price wise for a base to mod and learn from.

How much are those Polybutylene Terephthalate - what a name no wonder it's PBT

    What's the speed latency like?..

    This is otherwise a steal!

I only use it for typing using Bluetooth but I have read that you can connect it via USB C if you want faster input responses.

Been eyeing up the wired full size version, seems to review well, only complaints being the mini Enter key, which just tells me they've been lazy when converting a US keyboard as you now have 2 backslash keys

It's the Chinese way to do everything 90% brilliantly and 10% terribly but the two areas which 'could' do with some improvement are the switches and keycaps, and they can be changed fairly cheaply.

How do these compare to the EPOMAKER?

Most likely made in the same factory but slightly altered design and specs.

I've just ordered my first ever bare bones keyboard along with switches and doubleshot cherry keycaps from Aliexpress. GM67, Gateron milky yellow pros and white on black keycaps. About £55 approx all in, though it's only 67 keys, no iso UK layout and I like the alloy volume knob on this. Tempting...

this is the board i would want tbh

Price has come down quite a bit for mech keyboards.

If you can order from Aliexpress, you can very often find good deals. I have just bought my Keychron K8 Pro with BT, VIA support, RGB backlighting, hot swappable, incl. Gateron switches and key caps, for less. But you need to be lucky.

This is otherwise a brilliant deal from a UK based seller. (edited)

Even though I love clicky keyboards I realised tonight that they can be very annoying so I've just bought 45 cream blue AKKO V3 switches for £13.59 that are on offer at the moment (after watching a Youtube short showing and praising them)
So £60 for a keyboard of this spec with half decent switches still seems like a bargain to me.
Anyhoo these are the switches I`ve just bought: amazon.co.uk/gp/…6QH

Looks decent, what switches would you go for?

Ahhhh now that is the million dollar question when it comes to mechanical keyboards as they are very personal.

Do you want and audible click? Then go blue (clicky), if you want smooth, consistent, and silent keystroke then go red (linear) but if you prefer a little bump on the travel (or more resistance) then tactile browns might be preferred.

If you`re not sure listen to some YouTube switches videos but make sure they you note the manufacturer and type as another might sound different.

Oh and I've just installed some AKKO V3 Cream Blue tactile switches for just over £13 as they are highly rated and sound a lot quieter than the blue switches I bought as standard.

That is definitely not a UK layout keyboard

It depends on your definition of a UK layout. This is a kind of hybrid but has a normal UK QWERTY keys as well as a £ sign. If you look at the WIKIPEDIA page that shows the difference between UK and US layouts you will see that (apart from the long bar enter) it conforms more to a UK layout than it does US: en.wikipedia.org/wik…rds

Obviously due to the layout (as pointed out) it has 2 backslash keys but you have to realise that this is a cheap starter mech keyboard that people can upgrade if they want to (& some might like, and would like to keep it standard)

Personally I'm changing the switches, keycaps and maybe some other mods but at the end of it I will have a personalised keyboard that cost less than £100.

Guys and girls I've just installed these Akko V3 Cream Blue switches that are on offer at the moment for £13.59: amazon.co.uk/dp/…QH?

It was on the recommendation of this Youtube short: Akko V3 Cream Blue | $0.19 Tactile King? & they sound just the same as they did in the video

Oh and as pointed out they won't replace 'all' your switches but it should do the important ones (& you could populate the rest at a later date) (edited)

Sound the same as what the keys you took out or the sound in the video.

Also the set I bought one
