looks very good indeed. Use BEKUG10 to bring it down to £89.10 which must be a bit of a steal. The black one is £221 on Amazon currently.

Amazing price but I'm too scared to take the plunge. Feel I should be buying Sage or something

I'm working with coffee machines for living. Boilers and vibration pumps - most crucial components are very similar if not the same across machines from different manufacturers. At this price it's a steal. In fact I've just ordered one.

Forgive my ignorance, but as an espresso coffee machine, does this mean it won't make a full cup of coffee? Is the point of this purely to make either an espresso or a latte? Thx

Had a bit of scare yesterday... I'd been away on a weeks training course, so last Sunday I emptied the water tank and waste trays etc. and switched the machine off.

Yesterday I filled up the water tank, turned the machine back on and made coffee - no problem. When I went to use the steam wand, nothing came out of the wand and the water/steam had obviously backed up and was coming out through the maintenance panel on the side - I thought that was the end of the machine

Anyway, I took the wand nozzle off and separated the two component (used a pry tool) parts to soak them in hot water and clean. That sorted that issue out. Then, when I turned the machine back on, I had to perform my first descaling. Now, all is good again.

There's actually an machine emptying process which I didn't know about, briefly mentioned in the manual. I got most of my maintenance info through a brief YouTube video - I'll link if get a minute, though it is easily findable.

I hope my experience/ramblings can help

I have this machine. It’s amazing for the price for the quality and footprint of the machine. Can highly recommend. If you want a bean to cup this is a perfect starter and won’t break the bank.

What kind of coffee can this do? Anyone know the settings on it?

Just can’t seem to find any information of this model.
    Carl_Mitchelllit's avatar
It has options for strong and mild espresso, plus a hot water button to turn it into an americano, or the milk wand for lattes

We got it from your 245 comments on this post that this is the best thing that happened in your life…by far, and you’re absolutely extatic that others weren’t so lucky, so you chose to be a annoying troll. What’s next? A picture with them on your till, and next while making a coffee? Every morning?(lol)

Right, I’ve spoke to Beko to find out what’s going on… there’s people getting emails from fed-ex emails from beko or nothing at all.. some of you guys are saying your order has been delivered and you’ve ordered after mine. So

if you had a confirmation email from beko- your order was placed

i had a delay email from Beko to say new delivery date is 8th sep

on Tuesday Beko sent cancellation emails to orders they couldn’t fulfil —
if you didn’t get a cancellation of order email from Beko.. your order is still being processed

I ordered mine at 13.41pm and I haven’t received any contact from Fed-Ex.

I called Beko for an update and all is good.

the people who have had their orders cancelled would have been notified Tuesday.. if you’ve got your machine.. Bingo and if you’re still waiting… fingers crossed and I will pray for your order too x

hope this helps anyone still hoping (edited)

Just received my coffee machine. However got no clue on how to make a decent espresso. Can anyone help with what setting I should set the grinder to etc?
    Curlychew_'s avatar
    Still waiting for mine..

I could spout on about weighing a dry puck (if you can access the brew group).. grind settings for the right extraction (for me) and all that pointless jazz…

don’t set the grinder too fine, it may over extract too much and taste sour/bitter

set on a medium setting and adjust incrementally..

pour a double shot of black coffee/or expresso… no milk no sugar, leave it to cool
pretentiously then taste it… that’s your base

now adapt the grind settings, perhaps water vol, before you add how like to take your coffee, get the base black expresso right first.. add milk and sweetener (for me) trial and error unfortunately (edited)

    I have a pod machine.

Is this a good partner to it for "proper" coffee and money wise is there anything remotely this good for less than £100?

Simple to use for someone who's never used a BTC machine before and is it a faff cleaning/maintaining it?

Tempted to bite at this price point... also... Beko... good support?
    DingoDirk's avatar
With five grind settings and a 19 bar pressure pump this will *not* make barista style coffee.

A good quality Nespresso machine with Nespresso ground pods will produce a better cup of coffee in most cases.

The advantage of this machine is that you can use relatively cheap whole coffee beans without a separate grinder. However with five grind levels there is no way that you will be able to get a good grind/infusion other than by good fortune.

The bottom line is though that it is difficult and probably impossible to buy a non pod machine of this quality at this price. But this is not a "proper" coffee machine in terms of ability to make ballpark authentic espresso. It is a machine that allows you to use fresh whole beans without a separate grinder. If you find beans that work with the limited grinder settings then you have a bargain.

Looking at reviews before taking the plunge, it looks like it's basically the same as this SMEG machine for £699. You definitely pay for a name with a lot of stuff these days.

    johnlewis.com/sme…733

Been considering bean-to-cup for some while, but most affordable machines only use blade grinders. For less than £90 this is well worth a punt.
  18. vikasbhasin's avatar
Any recommendations on coffee beans that make good latte with this machine?
    floopie's avatar
I started off with the usual supermarket beans but if you want beans which are a bit more freshly roasted Tesco stock Roastworks the truth & the bold and from my experience they tend to be around 3 or 4 weeks from roast date. I'm now on a monthly coffee subscription and the beans are roasted and shipped the same day.
  19. babydriver's avatar
Just an update to the "Cunning plan" to take control of the frequency of descaling requests.
Suspecting it was triggered by either time or number of shots delivered, I ran the programme with just water and after execution, the "Descale" light was extinguished.
Saves a sachet or two, especially in a soft water area.

Mine arrived last week, thanks OP.

I haven't unpacked it yet, as having looked at the details I find it only makes one cup at a time. I currently use an old, but still working well, DeLonghi bean to cup machine, which takes up a lot of space, but does make two cups at a time..

I'm in a quandary. Can the Beko make two cups one after the other in a short time ? And presumably it can froth enough milk in one go to use on both cups.
    JasonMason's avatar
Yes of course it can make two cups one after another, and the milk frother will do easily plenty of milk for two lattes.
  24. maniac618's avatar
Question. Do you need to use the hot water separate spout to make an americano or does the coffee dispenser bit do that if you set it's time to longer pour than it's default?
    christo's avatar
With the espresso dispensing bit it's more of a 'lungo' (longer espresso) so like another comment says it'll change the extraction and taste, also I made the mistake of doing that not realising it's a single shot machine just to try and get to the 80ml for a double espresso - then the machine beeped twice saving that as a preset/I've had to reset the machine again and start fresh so I hope this helps somebody avoid the mistake I made - bit of a long reply here but yeah through the steam wand for an americano although it's gotta be said it didn't feel too hot for me if I was to drink them, the single shot measurement is the 40ml it 'should' be and it has a great recover time ready for the 2nd shot, for anybody that's not used it yet btw literally throw the first espresso it makes it's just a watery mess/even mentions it in the manual (I didn't read it at the time) and for me the most fine setting (smallest circle) on the grinder bit has been better for my espresso.

Mines been working great also til this week. Milk frother has stopped frothing. Done the obvious with cleaning nozzle etc but no joy! Beko customer service was great and as the brown one is discontinued and can't replace they've offered a different colour bean to cup machine machine and looks a newer model too
  26. The_Circle's avatar
If anyone is worrying about orders being fulfilled- relax...
I ordered ninety for eBay earlier, so you'll be able to get one next week there.
    You're welcome!
  27. squiddly_diddly's avatar
I have the model without the milk frother (looks exactly the same otherwise). I think it makes great coffee for the price but my main grievance is that its a bit annoying to clean out and the drip tray fills up really quickly. It also only makes 1 shot of espresso at a time so making coffee for more than 1 person is a chore.

This, however, is a fantastic deal for the price. I paid about £160 without the frother about 6 months ago.

Question for anyone currently using a bean2cup machine.
How long can you leave unground beans in the machine before it affects the flavour of the coffee?
    tcf's avatar
It doesn't bother me if the beans are there for over a week, but many would think this is coffee heresy.
  29. jamie.lonsdale's avatar
If this machine uses 12g of coffee to make one coffee and your buying 4kg DerFranz beans at £0.67/100g (current Amazon price) then it works out to about 8p a coffee. Roughly a third of the price of my Lavazza pods which are about 22p each.
    Pokey's avatar
It uses on average 8-9g of ground coffee per shot. I've weighed it.

I feel some poor kids gonna get crunched over this. Really sad seeing the lengths some people go through over a clearance item. No logic just emotion over missing out

Called the customer support today as the only emailed I received was the order confirmation email on the 26th, stating the delivery was due on the 30th. Apparently due to unprecedented demand they’re struggling to dispatch the orders on time. The chap on the phone assured me I managed to secure one and I will receive it at some point this or next week. He said they’re aiming to deliver them all by next Friday. In the meantime he advised to keep an eye out for the fed-ex email/text. Hope that helps anyone somehow.

Cant believe we havent had any coffee snob along yet to say this will make horrible bitter coffee.
I dont buy that the grind of the machine makes a significant difference - or my tastebuds are simply not sophisticed enough. Infact I am currently enjoying from of my 4kg of DeFranz beans for c20 quid - it is as nice as Lavazza which used to be my goto
    Pokey's avatar
I'm a coffee snob, I've been labelled it many times on this website. And I own one of these. It's next to my Sage Barista Pro, Aeropress and multiple Hario brewers. As long as you know what you're getting, something that makes fake espresso with only one setting, despite having more than one button, which tastes okay. I use it to get something drinkable, fast. (edited)
  39. Roystrainset's avatar
Can anyone recommend a good coffee for this? Only had instant before. Any good free/cheap trials going?
    blueyellowred's avatar
I quite like my OddCoffee subscription for the price . You can only choose darkness of the roast, not the actual coffee(it's weird concept of rescuing coffee from other roasters, but I'm behind in). Had 6 different 1kg bags so far and liked every one of them.
