    I've had made the mistake of no genuine ones. Do not bother. I'm telling you now they are not a patch. I'd love to be proven wrong but that link above shows ones with burnt cells and people saying they failed after 2 months. It's like putting AA batteries in your electric car and wondering why the performance isn't there.

    Agreed. The cells they use aren't high quality and the BMS often fails for high amperage tools. I've skimped on generic batteries before and one didn't even last a month.

    I tried some for a Makita 18v 165 circular saw.......after 1 use and a recharge they set fire to themselves in use......great fun......stupid batteries......saw survived.

    I've bought the non dewalt ones off amazon for £50 for 2x 4ah they're brilliant and last longer than the dewalt.
    I abuse them a lot too.
