Price is coming down as they've just discontinued the matching toaster- Recalled for fire risk.

Good kettle, beep on start/end of boiling is pretty loud.

Bought one of these about 8 years ago for my Father in Law. Its still going strong today. Recommended if you want a variable temp kettle.

Nothing below 70 is a bit weak IMO.

Had mine nearly six years now. Only issue is it's now slow to auto-switch off when boiled. But then it's predecessor, a Kenwood, was like that out of the box! Also have the toaster but that's of the same age, so no issue with the recall luckily.

Never really understood the complaints about the beep, as it's just a single tone. Now my JL washing machine on the other hand that beeps three times when it's done & repeats every 10 seconds... (edited)

Had one with the toaster many moons ago, great product, just ordered. Now to get the matching toaster (or similar)

If water is hard, it'll have problem switching off as there is a build up of calcium on the thermometer

Mine's regularly descaled, so not that. Seems they all go that way eventually if something else doesn't fail first.

I had one of these. It gave up the ghost after a year or so. Bought a second (a newer model), and that lasted a similar amount of time.

can’t see the point in these

I think you need to be a tea drinker. The keep hot function can be pretty handy when cooking.

I have one of these sitting in my garage waiting for me to fix it - had it about 2 years when it failed - its the contacts - pretty common fault apparently, but kettles get a lot of hammering at our place, water splashing around, hot cold cycles, being banged so perhaps not surprising - it was an ok kettle for the price - you can shell out a lot more for a kettle with the temperature control features. Hot vote here.

Did Bosch not offer a repair or replacement?

Nice try fren, I'm not buying your water dispenser

I'm not sure I really see the point of this, if I'm brewing tea I leave tea bags to steep in the water for 4-6 mins and by then, depending on whether I'm putting the water in a mug, tea pot (with or without the top) the water temp will go down 10-20 degrees in that time anyway.

we brew in the mug most of the time and use double-walled mugs, tea stays hot for longer

Oh I bought this ages ago. Still trucking! Variable temperature control good if you are into non-black teas

Very good kettle - would like a 95C option, but other than that it's been fantastic

I will add my opinion... 3 years and still doing well. London water and only once needed descaling. Perfect for matcha tea
