I have a S2721DGFA and the colours are much better than the G2724D. The new G2724D does replace the older S2721DGA but is a downgrade overall Colour Support is only 16.8 million colours vs the old model having 1.07 billion colors. To add the new model has a green/yellow tint, I did try changing the setting but couldn't get it to work. The one review on Amazon says the same re the tint. Good price point for the spec, but I found it disappointing overall. I have ordered the Alienware AW2723DF, will see how this compares. Big price jump but expecting this to be a decent upgrade from my current S2721DGFA.

Calibration is most likely needed as out of the box settings may not be the best. Hopefully rtings has a review soon along with a ICC profile

    This or S2721DGF?

I got the G2724D as a warranty replacement to my broken S2721DFGA. Overall, I think it's much brighter and have better contrast compared to the S2721DFGA, but you lose out on the Rear Blue LED lights and USB HUB.

This model replaces the S2721DFGA, which has been discontinued.

    Have this monitor now

Good overall uniformity in terms of brightness, very little to no backlight bleed and IPS glow is normal

Ghosting performance is good throughout the refresh range 48-165hz (UFO test)

Very minimal inverse ghosting and overdrive artifacts, even at extreme. In comparison to the majority of monitors I've used this is a significant upgrade, even without any form of dynamic overdrive. This means no more changing to a lower or higher overdrive setting to avoid inverse ghosting and overshoot with freesync enabled, at least when the framerate fluctuates wildly.

Build quality is good, nothing special but the stand is solid.

There is a slight green tint, even with dells own native colour profile but this does reduce eye strain and can be adjusted easily with the hue and colour options within the display OSD or dell display manager within windows.

Comes with a displayport and usb-c to displayport cable.

As a bonus it supports 10bit colour (maybe FRC but still good) at the max refresh rate of the display! (edited)

Ignore my previous message, I managed to get it working. There is a console mode on the monitor which I had to enable. HDR is available

What is more interesting is that in console mode the monitor supports 4k 50/60 HDR input

Its probably why it works with ps5 as I gather that the ps5 only allowed 1080 or 4k so by supporting the latter and the monitor downsampling to 1440p means 1440p120 is indirectly possible (edited)

I'd be tempted to bump the warranty up to 5 years too for the sake of £36 extra.

Similar specs, the Acer has speakers built in but no HDR. The HDR on the dell isn't the best though.
The dell has a better stand (edited)

...looking to play Xbox Series S so would the Dell be the better option because of HDR?

The one thing putting me off with this monitor is the lack so audio out on the rear. Should it though? Everything I’m likely to use with this (work laptop and ps5) are fine, but quite fancied using the sky a mini box every now and then?

I've been using for work and casual gaming via my pc so I don't miss the audio output. I did connect my Xbox to it and had no audio unless I connected my xbox headset
