HONOR Magic5 Lite. The latest Lite addition to the HONOR Magic series delivers all-round visuals and performance with a 120Hz all-round OLED Curved Display, high-capacity durable battery and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G Mobile Platform, all engineered to fit in a pocket-sized body. Available at an affordable price, this phone is set to make technology more accessible with reliable manufacturing to users around the world. As part of HONOR's efforts to reach carbon neutrality by 2030, HONOR Magic5 Lite does not include a charging adapter.

Featuring the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G Mobile Platform, the HONOR Magic5 Lite delivers robust performance across productivity and entertainment apps. The user experience is further enhanced by HONOR RAM Turbo, which enables the smartphone to use a section of the storage as RAM to keep more apps active for more efficient multitasking.

Certified by TUV Rheinland for low blue light emissions, the HONOR Magic5 Lite is easy on the eyes, and features industry leading 1920Hz PWM Dimming technology to reduce screen flickering, further alleviating eye fatigue stemming from prolonged use. Running the Android 12-based MagicUI 6.1 operating system, the phone comes with an anti-aging engine that minimises performance degradation over time to ensure a consistent, smart user experience.

In games where quick reflexes are required, users will appreciate the responsiveness of the HONOR Magic5 Lite's display, which supports up to a 120Hz refresh rate and a 300Hz touch sampling rate, allowing the device to almost instantly register and react to user inputs. Holding the device with one hand, the HONOR Magic5 Lite offers an innovative mistouch prevention enabled by AI technology to prevent unnecessary hassle caused by accidental inputs.

The HONOR Magic5 Lite inherits the design as the iconic flagship Magic Series camera lock-up, featuring a circular Matrix Star Ring at the back which captivates the viewers as it captures them. Arranged along the Matrix Star Ring, the powerful Triple Camera system - comprising a 64MP Ultra-clear Main Camera, a 5MP Wide Angle Camera and a 2MP Macro Camera - allows users to capture their daily lives in photos and videos that can be shared with friends and family at the touch of a button.

Software updates on this are few and far between. I bought one around May time and it's had one OS update since and still no Android 13. It is, however, one of the thinnest and lightest phones I've got, and (in the green version at least) is really quite a looker.

    Really great deal this one!!!

Best price I've seen watch the videos on YouTube it's a brilliant phone with great battery life and a fantastic screen and loads of other top features

Agree, I got this some weeks back and it's a very good phone. It doesn't have an audio jack which I didn't realise during purchase - I could'nt get audio to work on the USB-C port - got into developer mode and enabled audio on the port instead of charging only function - still nothing. Got some BT ear buds but it doesn't seem relaible during calls - only reason I'm thinking of changing but I love the curved screen and everything else just works great. No wireless charging, no audio jack, no 6Ghz WiFi (has ax though). Impressive phone overall and the display is one of the best. Any case/cover recommendations?

    So

I've had this phone for a couple of days, my Poco F3 bricked.

The battery is at 40% since fully charged 2 days ago, used it for 1 Netflix show and about 6 hours YouTube, Facebook doomscrolling etc.

I love deep blacks, so for me, the screen is fantastic I bought it at £169,99. It's slick enough when loading, and changing apps.

I'm not a big photo taker so not important for me, if it's important to you there are better cameras out there, but for me it's absolutely fine, it's very good in good light but not so good at low light, that's the only real criticism I have of it.

The speaker on the phone is just about passable, but then I NEVER use just the phone speaker, I have Bose QC's and an Arcam home set up for my sounds, an audio pro for listening in the kitchen. However, podcast listening is fine, music sounds terrible through the phone speaker.

Calls are fine too, no issues with volume etc, Bluetooth connects fast.

The two USPs for me are screen and battery - both outstanding for me at this price point because I'm up and down from London each week. I watch stuff on the plane.

It's also the lightest phone I've ever owned.

This is also useful for your phone if anyone flies often, I'm fed up being asked on the plane where I got it!

Nice price for that, the design and build looks and feels good for a budget phone (got the Honor 50 and looks to be very similar). Don't like how they've joined the trend of no charger in box though. Heat 🔥

How does this compare to the Galaxy A34 or Xiaomi 13 Lite ?
    litwoojczyznomoj's avatar
It's a nice phone but probably the other 2 are a little better when you consider performance, cameras, expected software support, etc. Depends what features are most important to you.

I dropped and broke my beloved Huawei P30 today so need to sort a new phone asap. My only real requirement is a camera which is at least as good as the p30 and under £500. Is this worth a look, anything else to consider like the Realme 11 deal? (edited)
