They do a lot of pizza ovens. Trying to figure out the difference between this one and the G10006 on Amazon UK

Okay so the G10032 has an upper and lower stone plate. The G10006 just has the bottom stone plate.

Trying to find the difference between the two stone and single stone models. I'm finding conflicting reviews- some say two stones are better and some say they aren't. I've also read that you can remove the top stop but the heating element is different.

    What's the consensus?

I would think that the single stone is better as the element will char the top of the pizza. The top stone acts as an insulator, and as heat rises, it will never be as hot as the lower stone. However with the two stone model, the element would distribute heat more evenly?

Saying that, if the two stone model has a different top element, maybe the designers engineered for the difference?

I did a bit extra reading and watched some Youtube videos in Italian (Youtube translates the CC). Ferrari have the spec sheets for both models as well. As predicted, the two stone model is used for pastries etc that would burn otherwise. If buying this oven for pizza only, there isn't really a difference as you'd be using the oven in single stone mode.

My view is you can buy a similar UK model for about 90GBP (Ariete). In the event a return, you'd be returning within the UK and not Germany. I think the price for this G3 is good but you need to factor oven use (having an extra stone assuming they are interchangeable), cost of UK plug (assuming the Ariete comes with a UK plub) and warranty returns back to Germany.

Does anyone buy premade dough and how easy is it.
    vulcan903's avatar
I use pre made frozen and its fine. Trick is to pre cook the dough on both side first then add all the bits.

We have one of these, bought throught from Amazon.it, ended up paying just under £80 with delivery. Absolutely brilliant, very easy to use, makes a good crispy base and cooks the topping to perfection in around 3 minutes, not just for pizza, have a look a the video below.

Came with a Euro 2-pin plug, but just cut this off and replaced with a UK 3-pin

That is the single stone version - this is by far the cheapest double stone (can use single stone for pizza).

Feel free to use the oven

Oven isn't good for the pizza style that the G3 will bake. You could use a pizza steel however still you won't get the temperature and you risk melting the electronics while also using a lot of electricity to get to temperature compared with the G3.

In my opinion, the standard home oven should only be used for deep dish/ pan such as Chicago, Detroit, or Sicilian style which bake a a lower temperature which the G3 isn't really designed for.

I bought the Ariete in the end and it came two days later. It has a UK plug.

The temperature ranges between 280 and 315c, but thermostat surfing helps. Takes about 10 minutes to heat up and doesn't heat the entire house like the oven.

The metal sliders are useless as a peel. Suggest wood.

My impression is that is is decent pizza oven and an excellent backup for the wood pellet oven when it rains (which happened all summer).

There is modding potential but would definitely void the warranty and limit the lifespan before melting. This would be the holy grail.

Make sure to have good flour, Caputo red (from memory) is designed for lower temperature ovens. I had the leopard skining with this and a pizza steel in the past so it should do the same in this oven.

I wonder if I can replace the ceramic with a circular pizza steel.. thoughts?

Used to have one of these before I got my Effeuno oven. Great little thing for taking pizza to the next level..a lot of people mod them as well to get even hotter.
    daddybr00's avatar
Is the Effeuno really worth 10x the price?

if i bought this i'd use an adapter
    col11's avatar
An adapter, You mean an RCD?
Are these ovens good? My other half bought a BBQ top pizza thing but we've never got round to using it as we always bbqing lots of different stuff! (edited)

I take it the stone doesn't heat to 450 degrees C like the Ooni oven do?
    gnagno's avatar
I've had one of these for years now. You just need to cut away the thermostat and the stone will easily reach 450 degrees.
I have both an ooni and a Ferrari, I use my Ferrari when the weather doesn't allow me to cook outside

Anyone got one they use regularly.
    ShopCom123's avatar
Got a slightly different model (amazon.de/gp/…c=1) which we use on a regular basis, kids love it and so do we so everyone's a winner.

I've got one and it's great for cooking pizzas. It's quick for just one or two pizzas, but I tend to use the oven for any more than that. I believe it does heat to about 400 degrees, but everything seems to burn at that temperature any way!
    sim11's avatar
If memory serves these don't hit 400 degrees yeah sure they get hotter than an oven but then fall way short of a gas or wooden fire pizza oven temp wise.

I have one of these and highly recommend it. Good price too

I bought one from Amazon Italia, use it with travel adaptor every Friday night with a fresh batch of dough. Bloody brilliant throughout the seasons unlike those Oonis.

Did anyone find somewhere where you can get the terracotta plates for this that offer a big improvement? There was a shop in Europe selling them but wouldn’t deliver to the UK last time I looked.
  17. scotty6435's avatar
Can anyone with one of these confirm if it works well if you slide the homemade pizza on aluminium foil? I really struggle with ultra thin bases folding or breaking so tend to oven mine on foil so it doesn't have to be transferred
    crazy_kalz's avatar
What I do is place the dough on greaseproof paper, then make the pizza on there. Place the pizza with the greaseproof paper straight on to the oven and then leave it in for around 1 minute and then just slide the paper off from underneath. It will just slide off so easily as the base will have slightly cooked by then. (edited)

Had one of these for a few years now and absolutely love it
I use a UK plug adapter with no issues.
Takes 5-10 mins to reach temperature which is a lot more energy efficient than heating a stone/steel up in the oven for an hour.
Sometimes I get lazy and use Morrisons sourdough, £2.75 for 4 x pizzas and it's delicious!
  19. greencode's avatar
Has anybody had theirs delivered yet? How are you finding it?

    This or G3 Ferrari G10006?
    crazy_kalz's avatar
Go for the Ariete Mini made by Delonghi. You won't regret it!
