Very also have the G84 for £50 more. That's got an OLED screen, 12GB of RAM and superior camera performance. Worth it if your budget stretches.
    HellriderUKDeals69's avatar
G84 looks better as it has a Snapdragon processor.
  2. TheFutureIsUnwritten's avatar
Apparently it will only get android 14 update and 3 years security
    dkj255's avatar
Yep, don't buy any Lenovo Motos if you value long upgrade/update life - their attitude (and that of many Chinese brands) is that if you want newer versions of Android then you should buy a newer phone. (edited)
  3. Crossbow's avatar
Do visit the Motorola site for all the correct specs motorola.co.uk/sma…748, for example the secondary camera is actually a 2mp macro - there's no ultrawide sensor as stated on Very & some other sites.
  4. archie333333's avatar
It's 6000mAh device? Very description is misleading.

Great spec for that price. Hot 🔥 (edited)
    vassy4u's avatar
That's for India and UK variant is only 5000mah

£179.99 on Amazon with free delivery if you got Prime : Motorola G54 8+256 Midnight Blue amzn.eu/d/h…pZI

Indigo blue is 219 the one you posted isn't leather

What's your max budget like? Are you considering any other phone at all?

The Note 10 Pro would be my choice over this for the following reasons... gsmarena.com/com…662
    + Amoled screen vs IPS
+ Better cameras & 4K video on the main
+ Dedicated microSD & dual-SIM slot vs shared slot
    + Better audio
+ WiFi Direct feature vs none
    + IR-port/blaster

The G54 has some pros over the N10Pro, but the reasons above would be enough to sway my decision towards the Xiaomi - despite being ~2.5 years older.
The latter not receiving too many more updates is the most major concern, although commendably it is presently on Android 13 & might even get Android 14 androidupdatetracker.com/p/x…pro

How would this compare to my Pixel 5 in terms of general day to day performance?
Sadly I notice sluggishness now, even despite resetting.
    SClub's avatar
Moto is about 20% faster. I'll probably swap my Pixel 5 out for a Pixel 8 on a black friday contract deal.

I got this for 149.99 on Amazon today, they've 20% off mobiles up to £30 discount. I'm happy with the wait for delivery. It's an upgrade from the G31, which has been laggy since android 12 a few weeks ago. Also this has 4 times more storage space. Additional 1.25% discount if you get a gift card via jam doughnut app. ANDW will get you £2 bonus.

Is there a discount code for £30 discount?
  9. Sjsjzwzebxxbn_Uajqzszdbx's avatar
Very no thanks worst company I have ever dealt with complete time wasters
  10. hotman's avatar
I think there is a chance this has a 6000mah battery.

This one has an ultrawide camera whereas the Motorola website version has only a macro camera.
    AngryCoffeeTable's avatar
I thought that too. The one you see on GSMARENA isnt the same one you think youre going to get.... The Indian version of this handset, you can have 12GB Ram and 6000mah battery. In UK/Europe its 8GB and 5000mah.

its a shame but thats how it is.
  11. rainbowwheel's avatar
"long battery life" section says that the battery is 6000mah, specs states that it's 5000 mah. Any advice about which one could it be?
    Many thanks! (edited)
    Animal5865's avatar
    6000 in India
  12. Flaggen's avatar
I like a Tech Spurt video, his sense of humour is right up my street and his reviews seem balanced. Doesn't just concentrate on flag ships, either.
  13. Mook2000's avatar
It's fairly off-topic but I ordered a G72 for 180 euro from Amazon.it recently, which is best in class non-5G according to Notebookcheck: notebookcheck.net/Mot…tml.

I was sending it in Europe so didnt worry about customs but hopefully its interesting to someone, as is the info that GSMArena does cross-Euro Amazon price comparison which I learnt on here.

Is this a good upgrade from my p30 pro? Main prioritise camera and battery life
    MrKrabs's avatar
Camera doubt it. P30 pro has an epic camera, even by today's standards, esp the proper optical zoom. Wife still using hers as I've not found anything better camera wise without spending hundreds. Battery isn't what it used to be so will be on the lookout for something to replace with soon
  15. BorisK's avatar
    Great price for this spec

5G, 8GB RAM + 256GB Storage, OIS, 120Hz screen - this is a lot of phone for 170 quid. (edited)
    Little_Casper's avatar
This is pretty much flagship specs from 4/5 years ago which is mad.

There are companies who have attempted to develop unique recreations scientifically, but the retail world has cottoned on that they can just call pleather "vegan leather", which is technically true but totally disingenous and at the total opposite of the price/quality range.

Don't know if this is or not, just pointing it out for people to watch out for. Pleather doesn't last long.

Got one for my dad a few weeks ago...very good phone for the price
  23. krankup's avatar
I like the Moto phones, always upgraded folks phones every few years with these. Great spec for money and low on the bloatware.
  24. Alex5454's avatar
İf you thinking to return it after opening the box, tough luck. They will keep it for a month and send it back to you accusing you with stealing an accessory from the box (they don't accept open box returns) (edited)
    deleted2460409's avatar
Shouldn't have stolen the accessory then

I had a few Moto Gs and really liked them. I then bought a Redmi Note 10 Pro and won't go back to Moto Gs, only as the Redmi has as a finger print sensor that works really well and is so convenient for signing into banking apps etc.
    Gestr's avatar
Allegedly this has a finger print sensor?

I should know as I have the phone, but I haven't bothered setting it up/looking for it as I don't think it would save me time. (edited)
  27. n64play's avatar
That's a lot of phone for the money. Good find op

Anyone know how this compares to a Galaxy S20FE....battery draining and need a reasonably priced replacement!
    Romasato's avatar
I have S20 FE and wouldn't change to this Motorola one
  30. tom6195's avatar
What are Motorola like with updates?
    jazzuk777's avatar
Not very good any more, is like Lenovo didn't think at all about why they had a renaissance when Google briefly owned them. (edited)

    Interesting.
  32. themanwithapc's avatar
Can you not buy this for £161 direct from Moto as per a deal posted earlier?
    Paul_Tomlin's avatar
    What deal,not seen that one
  33. little_green's avatar
Looking the look of Motorola phones specifically flat screen ones but there doesn't seem to a top range one or even an upper mid range one which is a pity
  34. BennyBall's avatar
Is this better than the G82 I got last year?
    AngryCoffeeTable's avatar
Depends what you class as 'better'

    IPS vs AMOLED
    Different camera configuration
    Bigger battery
Dimensity 7020 is a bit stronger and newer.
    256gb storage. 8GB Ram.

If i had an absolutely garbage phone. Id get this Moto in a heartbeat. Would you consider your phone to be garbage? (edited)
  35. TheNig's avatar
Not a bad deal but Poco/Xiaomi specs at this price are better deals.
    mikejbry's avatar
    Which ones specifically?
  36. bodolf's avatar
Anything better at this price range
  37. mike_the_tv's avatar
Good specs for the money apart from no 4K video recording. My G8 plus from 2019 has 4K recording.
