I’m after a 43” tv to mainly run Zwift on from a laptop or Apple TV 4K box. Would you recommend this or similar tvs by Hisense, TCL, LG, Toshiba etc? It doesn’t have to be the best but want the best tv for less than £300

I'd recommend buying the best TV you can find under £300 with a 5 year guarantee. Try John Lewis or Costco. At £300 you can find a 60Hz VA/IPS type panel, I don't think that there would be much between most of the budget brands. Vestel (Toshiba, Hitachi, Polaroid, JVC, Bush, Alba etc.) are typically the lowest tier I would say, however their recent QLED TVs are decent picture wise and not slow like some of the older ones.

TCL are also decent, as are Hisense but you are buying at a price point so just be aware. I recently bought a 43 inch LG earlier in the year for £149 after cashback and I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of that. I'd suggest to go somewhere like john Lewis or Currys and have a look at what appeals to you. Then buy it somewhere with an extended guarantee.

Is this actually made by Panasonic, or is it one of those models made by a third party like Vestel and badged as a Panasonic?

I'm tempted by this, Panasonic's are a brand u trust. do we think there will be anything better on black Friday?

Rebadge to give you feeling of trust compared to the Bush TVs which it's probably built like. Same with Hitachi, Sharp, Toshiba.

I was given a second hand 50 inch Panasonic Viera Plasma tv 📺 from Facebook marketplace just over a week ago all it cost me was my £17 train fare. The very kind lady was moving house an

d would not take a penny for it even though I insisted. It’s about 13 years old but is in excellent cosmetic condition and the picture quality is amazing and it also has 3 x hdmi ports which surprised me for a tv of this age. What I’m trying to say is before you waste your money on this which is clearly a vestal as someone else has already mentioned it’s always worth checking out Facebook marketplace… (edited)

My Panasonic TV is still going strong after ten years (4 x HDMI) - think it cost about £700 back in the day.

You get what you pay for.

Ive not heard of LINUX tv before, are these common? Any good?
    chancooluk's avatar
It's just a basic smart TV OS, with Freeview Play and a few extra apps. It doesn't have a fully fledged app store, and apps cannot be sideloaded. It's functional, but better to add a fire stick if needing better internet connectivity.
