Similar quality and slightly lower capacity- Ikea Ladda 1900mAh are £5 for 4.

The Chinese Ladda's are not the as good as the Japanese ones. The more expensive (Japanese) manufactured Ladda's are as good as the Eneloop Pro's and are made in the same (only Japanese) battery manufacturing plant. Any AA/AAA rechargeable battery that says it's made in Japan is made in the same factory as the Eneloop Pro's. Same with older Sanyo Eneloops. Panasonic moved production to China (for the cheaper/these) some years ago. I've old Sanyo Eneloop rechargeables that are still going strong. A good charger (that does conditioning) will extend the life of your batteries too.  (edited)

My last purchase of Eneloop AA batteries was in 2011. £6.79 for 4. Or £1.70 per battery.
Had the price gone up with inflation, this would now be £2.39 per battery.
Generally, manufactured consumer goods go up by less than the average inflation rate.

Now, at the standard price, this is £3.35 per battery, even if I buy a less convenient 8 pack.
The special offer brings it back to £2.37 per battery.

Ikea Ladda batteries are apparently enloop pro's, got lots of them and seem good

I've been told that Amazon has stopped all imports from the EU. We've been waiting for products for months of delays only to be told this last week.

Long Live Eneloop, don't see them around much anymore, and used to be one of the best batteries you could ever get!

They were when Sanyo made them but not so good now that Panasonic produce them.

Just recharged my second set of 8 purchased 2018 and still outperform other brands I have

I use hixon AA lithium, they outperform the eneloop on a simple human soap dispenser as they output 1.5V rather than 1.2v in eneloop. Also my Oral B toobrush smart display does not work with eneloop as they need the full 1.5V.
