McDonald’s food for thought digital vouchers: New items added

Mcdonalds have added new items to their Food For Thought £1.99 digital vouchers.

Previously you could choose from either Big Mac, Fillet O Fish, Vegetable Deluxe with medium fries or side salad

Now you can choose from:
Big Mac
Fillet O Fish
Quarter Pounder with Cheese
McChicken Sandwich
6 Chicken Nuggets
McPlant
-with medium fries or side salad

To complete a food for thought survey, you need a McDonalds receipt with a 12 digit code and head over to mcdfoodforthoughts.com (however people report you can complete the survey without a code by selecting ‘no’ where it asks ‘Do you have your receipt available?’ and hitting ‘next’ then keep hitting ’start’ until the survey questions begin)

The voucher can also be added to the app meaning you can collect points. Just hit ‘more’ then ‘scan vouchers’.

    Doesn't let me add to the app, says coupon is not eligible for a prize.

    Upon completing the survey you are given a choice of receiving the code by email or viewing the voucher on the survey finish page. select this to get the code instantly.

    You are then shown a QR code with a 12 digit code underneath (screenshot incase you lose the page)

    To add it to the app, first open up the mcdonalds app, hit ‘more’ on the bottom right then ‘scan vouchers’

    Tap the link that says ‘manually enter code’

    Make sure you enter the code in upper case or it wont accept it.

    An easier way is to do the survey on a different device so you can scan the QR code with your app on your phone.

    I didn't have a receipt and just clicked no don't have one and put a random four letter code in and a load of made up amounts and dates and it worked perfectly.

    you don’t need to put anything in. just keep hitting enter. it errors out a couple of times but on the 3rd or 4th time it starts the survey.

    Also to note that the receipt code must be used within 60 days of your visit. And I believe when you get the foodforthought code that will last till end of next month

    I added a voucher to my account from a new receipt yesterday. It is still in my account. I tried adding the offer to my basket, including on self service, to see if it would disappear like others have said and it has not disappeared.

    my food for thoughts only lasts till 31st July..... i got a feeling its not being renewed, so gonna make the most of it whilst i can.

    This is standard, survey code lasts until the end of the following month.

    I never get a QR code in the email they send (on Gmail) just the code which needs to be manually entered at a digital kiosk,
    this means i have to go in and can't use the drive through,

    Above the code it shows an image box next to the words 'present me' which is where i assume it should populate the QR code....

    I get that too but I use the mcdonalds app, copy/paste the code into the app

    More > scan vouchers > tap here to manually enter code

    You can add the offer to an app order and choose to collect at drive thru, eat in or takeaway.

    I just forwarded the email from Gmail (which doesn't show the QR code) to my Yahoo email and the QR code shows correctly there.

    Thanks OP. Stocked up the offers section of my app (can add multiple). Recommend using a 2nd device. Process takes under a minute for each code. I clicked 'No' on receipt page then select start 3 times (page will return error missing receipt details until 3rd attempt) and you're in. Blah blah the survey then on completion click print and a QR code appears. Grab your app, tap on more then scan voucher, scan the QR code then click save the offer.

    I did the clicky thing yesterday (no receipt ) and it generated a code, but it never displays the email properly on my android phone ! (no barcode)
    Any ideas as to why ? other emails display pictures ...

    so I have to type in the code manually at the screen - where it tells me the code is invalid 😡

    I only ever order on the app, so never get a receipt - is there a way to get this offer without an initial receipt?

    You do get a receipt when ordering on the app, I’ve literally just used this offer by adding the code to the app and I have a new receipt in the bag

    Is anyone actually getting a receipt when ordering with the app?
    My last 2 orders never had one in the bag and I can't see how to do the survey from the email reciept.

    Nah I never get a receipt when I order in the app. Don't even get one when I order on the self-service kiosk.

    The only time I get one is when I order at the till.

    That's exactly what I thought when it was plastered on the 1.99 thread the other day , so big thanks to those ejits !! ,, you can't stack them in the app now either it stole them off me earlier , so anyone still doing with the receipt don't try to add more than 1 ! (edited)

    I don't get why genuine vouchers are not working, they've obviously cocked something up?
    They've fixed the website bug now, so there's no need to block any vouchers issued after the fix.
    It's out of order as they are getting genuine feedback from customers, but not fulfilling their end of the deal after providing the vouchers.

    I used to use 3 vouchers at a time for my family but they have stopped this and have been cheekily trying to charge us full price for 2 of the deals when we went through the drive through - even though the app said it was £5.97.
    Not on my watch.

    I now go into the store and waste more of their time by getting each of us to use 1 code each so they have to give us 3 orders in 3 different bags, with 3 different receipts with 3 lots of sauces and 3 lots of condiments. It takes longer to go in store but I will happily waste 10 mins of my life to save about £10 per visit.

    If you have added any to the app before the increase they are still £1.99 but any future ones are £2.99 - yes it is unfair

    Brilliant! Thanks for posting OP. Long gone are the days of asking to swap the Big Mac for a McPlant at the counter because I'm vegetarian... and added bonus - this can be used on delivery. Thank you so much!

    Interesting, i did a survey a few days ago, added the code on the app and it said add offer but the offer was blank and nothing appeared in my offers.

    It has since appeared as the £1.99 offer. So it's not completely dead after all.

    Random codes don't work, nor does trying to use the sequence number from app receipts.

    If they could only just sort giving the survey code from app orders then it's all good again.

    Well I just got royally conned.
    Probably trying to get me back for using 3 voucher codes in one go.

    Just ordered big Mac, qtr pounder, 6 nuggets all with fries should have been 5.97. Which is what it said as the total. All via app.
    Paid and then got home to find ALL 3 fries missing!
    Not only that, but the cheeky so and so's actually charged me 9.36 as for some reason it charged me full price for the 6 nuggets!

    How the heck it changed mid payment I don't know, but didn't realise until looking at the receipt.
    However this time I did a genuine food for thoughts feedback and slated them good and proper. (edited)
