Rowing machine

Does anyone own one of those rowing machines?
Is it worth buying a cheap one or are they rubbish?

I have previously bought budget gym equipment and it was very poor. If you are already fit and into fitness, don’t waste your money on budget stuff as it won’t cut the mustard. If you are inactive and not fit, then budget stuff should be fine.

I’m not fit nor fat. But wanting to work on cardio to start with. (edited)

It seems that half the country buy, use a few times, collects dust for a bit and then sells on 'exercise equipment. As a result the best deals are often those being sold by previous owners (if you can weed out the rubbish). You can often pick up stuff for a fraction of what they paid - doesn't hold it's value much. Worth a look on your local used goods forums etc
