Pick a graphic card - Help !

Hello everyone,
My PC is quite old but works fine for everything but gaming, I assume because of the graphic card so I am looking at upgrading this component. I will mostly play indie games or management games (Civ, Northgard, Dune etc.). For all my AAA needs, I generally use my PS5.
From a budget perspective, I would like to keep this as low as possible but let's say that 150/200£ would be ideal.

My current config is:
i7-2600K 3.4Ghz
16GB DDR 3 1800Mhz
Samsung SSD 870 EVO 1TB (plus a lot of space in HDD)
Nvidia GeForce GTS 450
Motherboard: Asus P8P67LE (I think it only has PCI-E 2, which is my concern - how would this work with newer cards, and is it even worth having a newer card with this MB?)
all this powered by a Corsair TX650

I currently have two monitors but planning on maybe getting a wide screen for work perspective mostly.

Thanks for the help you could provide. I'd be happy to get a Black Friday deal

That is my kind of upgrade I will look at the RX 570/580 then! My only issue is that we can't find these cards new anymore and the second ones were mostly beaten up by years of mining... (cf all the Aliexpress deals)

It's not going to be worth it, anything remotely recent will be held back by the 12 year old cpu which can be out performed by even most budget laptops these days.

My CPU never felt like it was blocking anything, but that's probably because of the GC being the bottle neck. Thank you for your input.

I see CeX sells the 580 8GB for 85£. At least, I think it would be easy to return it if I don't like it / doesn't work vs the AliExpress deals...

I am also looking at a RX 5600 XT in a similar price range. Would the additional 40£ be worth it? (edited)

Do love that you are still using this old tech
see you have a couple of spare memory slots

but as said above probably time to start again

would imagine a second hand/refurb amd system would suit ?

I thought a few times of upgrading the whole rig; but, tbh, I could never found a good reason to do so. I never felt my computer was too slow (I always had an SSD in the system even if I replaced the old 64GB by the 1TB last year). Besides gaming, the computer is just doing what I want it to do, so no need to change.

I probably will change the whole thing in a few years when I will have no choice, but until then I am saving earth (and money!)
