Spilled oil on paint work

Today I dropped a bottle of vegetable oil which splashed on my wall (water based emulsion).
I have tried to get it off with washing up liquid and grease remover spray.
This has taken most of the paint off but the grease stains are still visible.
Does anyone know if I paint over it a few times with the same emulsion will the stain still show?

The zinnser is good stuff. I'd get a spray can, much easier to use and it won't leave brush marks. Then paint over this with your current top coat, it'll need at least 2 coats. Personally I'd repaint the whole wall as the time you'll spend trying to see if you can see the touch up and convincing yourself you can't it's quicker to do a proper job. (edited)

If soap and water is not working clean with methilated spirits. It's a cleaner and mild paint striper. Will remove oil and grease though. See what you are left with. Probably paint over ok if it all comes off. If not zinsser BIN.

Just emulsion over and see what it's like. (edited)

Emulsion just won't stick if there's a molecule of oil left !
Sugar soap followed by a sealing primer...

Yes it will.

You need to cover it with a stain blocking paint first before applying your top coat.

Something like Zinnser Cover Stain - Toolstation tends to be the cheapest or you could try FB Marketplace.

Thank you for replying. If I used the product you mentioned to just go over the stain with and then my normal paint do you think this will blend in with the rest of the wall? Or is it a thick different consistency? They are freshly painted so don’t want to do the whole room again.
