See this all the time.. It's the modern day privilege of some people who think it's ok to just pull up on double yellows, the middle of the road, corner junction or a bus station to drop people off.

Suck it up, learn how inconvenient and dangerous it could be and pay the fine.

My favourite is when the police do it as they needed to "pop to the shop" whilst on duty!

You said you dropped your son of at a bus stop, unless you were driving a bus at the time just pay the fine, if you were driving a bus you maybe able to argue your case! (edited)

Did you ask the car if it identifies as a bus???

    Pay the charge.

The rules apply to you, just as much as they do to everyone else.

I assume you went into a bus lane, unfortunately this will have been clearly signposted.

For the volume of times you have committed, or will commit, a parking offence without penalty, you are probably way ahead financially. Chalk it up to experience, and be more cautious.
But if it is a clearly marked bus stop then you shouldn't be there anyway. It is a no stopping zone for anything other than a bus

That would be quite annoying, yet not as annoying as the time we went to an outdoor event, the car park was full and the Police directed us to park on the pavement. We ended up getting a parking fine as appearently we blocked a cycle lane. What you gonna do, we just paid it and chalked it up to experience.

I would have argued that one to be fair!

If there was a sign there that said no stopping and you stopped there, you have no choice but to pay the fine

It was a bus stop area, No sign needed other than "bus stop".

You will probably find that you can reduce the penalty if you pay quickly. You've admitted fault, and there is evidence, so pay the £37.50 or whatever, and be grateful you've at least saved something

Yeah, try quoting those to the idiots that park in front of our driveway

That place is a complete waste of time.... Populated with pedants and harvested for info by the ahole companies you are trying to fight.
You KNOW if you're guilty or not... If yes, then pay.... If no, tell the judge, anything else is a waste of time, money and sanity

That awkward moment the comment section doesn't go how you imagined, so you ignore your own post whilst still commenting on others...

Location of the road to be reviewed on street view in order to give you reasonable feedback

You need to get that fine paid soon as.

    Happened to me last year
Picking up my daughter outside the train station at 1am due to train delays.
I stopped for 10 seconds at the bus stop and got fine.
    Had to pay...😡

Bus stop and bus lanes often have cameras. As someone had said, you aren't driving a bus so you shouldn't be there.

In Northern Ireland all bus lanes within Belfast are signed and all have cameras - they even advertise the fact!

You used a bus stop area (the time there is irrelevant) and you have to pay the fine - it's not complicated, despite what some have said here. It's not pleasant paying fines, but hopefully it has the desired effect - you won't do it again.
