Lovely price (under £1000) - posted something similar a while back, and thought I'd share another route.

You'd be visiting quite a few destinations - the airlines vary from (but most aren't full-service - like easyJet) - this post is aimed mostly at backpackers, so don't expect too much luxury.

Plenty of places across the world to wash clothes etc. - make sure you plan accommodation and itineraries, this is just based on flights.

All flights are direct (except the final one), and start and return to Gatwick!

There's a Small Europe Stay (Paris), then you America (Miami + Los Angeles), followed by Hawaii (Honolulu), Down Under (Melbourne), then a final Asia Leg (Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Phuket & Bangkok) - before you head home to London.

Note you can skip the Europe leg, and go straight to Miami if you want.

    This is awesome.

I’ve done 3 months in se Asia with a 20l decathlon backpack that goes under the seat. Hate paying extra for stuff you don’t need. With good packing techniques you can make it work for warmer climates and do laundry every 5-7 days. Airbnb with a machine or local shop. For colder, layers are key. Thermal base layer, normal top and one of those puffa jackets that squash right down.

    7 underwear and socks
    5 tops, 1 base layer
    1 jeans or casual trousers
    1 fold down jacket
    1 nice shorts
    1 swim shorts
    1 trainers, 1 flip flops
    sunglasses
    1 charger and universal adapter
toiletries buy when there. Usually get in hotel.

So hold up if I make a random holiday and post it without actually thinking about what's needed as people have said how you supposed do this with no luggage? It's like 40 quid for the cheapest per flight!

Pointless deal... dunno why its hot gonna cost way more than this... and people kick off about amazon charging for delivery if no prime sub but this gets hot...

I think you might have missed the point.

Never ceases to amaze me the fluctuation in flight prices. Been searching for return flights to Thailand since Christmas and having observed a steady rise in costs jumped on a Qatar airlines deal on the BA sale last week. Today Etihad flights out of LHR to BKK on the same dates are nearly £1k cheaper (for 4) than they were a week ago

I have good luck with Momondo always checking on a Wednesday or Thursday. Thought it was a myth until I recently found a flight Edi to Bangkok for £450 compared to every other day of the week £1200 plus.

For the complaints about the need for paid luggage, get yourself a scottevest.com which has dozens of pockets - I have one and successfully did a weekend away in Stockholm on Ryanair without any luggage whatsoever. The look on the face of the gate dragons checking hand luggage was priceless.

Round the world might be a bit more challenging, but would be fun to try!

"Is that a bomber jacket?" no it's a vest.

Always love to see these deals and the effort put in. Did similar almost 10 years now for a similar price. Hand luggage all the way and had a fab time. Anything extra needed I'd just buy in supermarket or cheap poundshops.

Found the trickiest part to be US across the Pacific so going via Hawaii and Australia is a great shout!

Thanks and agreed, the US onwards is the hardest part (Hawaii tends to be the best solution, especially if you want to go to Australia - also works for Japan too.

Otherwise the middle east route is easier.

This is excellent effort. I hope you keep posting such around-the-world deals in the future as I’d love go on one when I build up the courage!
  9. futura's avatar
Bit annoying showing Skyscanner results like this as 9 times out of ten when you click on the link to the booking site it's either unavailable or the price changes from my experience.

If I was doing this I'd skip Miami (crazy expensive to stay there), LA (dirty and full of homeless/beggars/druggies) and Melbourne and just head straight to the Asia leg. You're not missing anything (edited)
    thethreestripes's avatar
Kinda misses the point of Around the world. Just a partly around the world trip ? Agree with you about LA though having been there the best bit was getting out.

It's been a while since I've seen something like this. Keep posting deals like this more frequently!

Imagine all HUKD users be one planet during this date. If you see someone familiar after 3 flights, that means he or she took the deal for a world trip. Good price. Have a safe journey on those taking this deal
  12. Shandally1's avatar
Great deal but I’ll be amazed if someone comes on here in May and says we did exactly as you said , had a great time and we only spent £799 on flights
    skgwho's avatar
For this itinerary, you'd definitely need baggage. That's gonna double the cost.
  13. brummy22's avatar
    Cracking effort that
  14. UnluckyForSome's avatar
This is the coolest thing i’ve seen posted on here in a long time. Do more of these!
  15. JF14's avatar
Not to rain on anyone's parade but not of those flights with have hold luggage and some might even have cabin bags. Add these in and it will more than double the costs of the flights.
    Topgun55's avatar
Totally agree. Thanks for the effort (really appreciated), but without even a ('real') cabin bag included the deal is pretty useless... (as it caters only to the probably less than 0.1% that would actually do such a trip with just a backpack - at the end of winter). Not to mention a checked bag.
  16. pbdj's avatar
Amazing effort, but worth flagging the low cost carriers may not even give you a free carryon (easyJet for a start). Still cracking effort and strong suggestions.
  17. Reena7's avatar
Absolutely love these, keep this as a regular thing please. Great work

Although for me, I would add New York instead of Miami and miss Australia all together and add Japan in there instead.
    thethreestripes's avatar
Out of interest why would you miss AUS ? maybe you've been ? I've been to neither Aus or Jpn so would be interested in both. That said I would go via Miami as I've been to NY.
  18. shonkydonkey's avatar
Nice work OP... Just a note that Norse keep on chopping and changing their routes, so I would be wary of booking anything with them that then has dependencies on further flights.

Thanks and agreed, good thing is there's many options for America (Virgin, BA etc.) - also best to make sure to leave 3+ days between flights
  19. Willy_Wonka's avatar
Deserves to be the hottest deal of the day just for the effort put in by the OP let alone the price.

Don't worry about one or two numpties who have voted cold. This is a great deal and if you want add another £500 for a bag, you can. Brilliant deal. I did one a few years back before COVID and that went mega hot.
  28. molimo's avatar
Oh no. Voted cold by accident. Actually hot! One too many glasses of red on a Thursday night 🍷 (edited)

Great deal. I had deals like this when I was about 21 back in the day. Either 5/7/12 stops. I would do this again ( no interest in Australia because of the poisonous buggers ) fantastic value!

Hold baggage is a personal choice. We've just travelled for five months,
eight countries and three continents, with just hand luggage.

I'm too mean to pay for hold luggage, so very rarely do.
