    Pretty shocking the latest gen consoles still cost so much. PS5 launched at £449 over 3 years ago and has had a die shrink (meaning cheaper to produce). By comparison the PS4 launched at £349 and 3 years later the PS4 slim went on sale for £259. I dread to think how much a PS5 Pro would cost!

    Die shrinks no longer give the big savings they used to do. EUV is expensive. Chips are getting more expensive.

    We have also had that much inflation that £450 in 2020 is currently £544 in Jan 2024.

    Very nice! I bit the bullet on a second hand one at 390 with the spider man 2 game. I think I would've chosen this one for the reassurance!

    I'm hoping a deal comes up for the PS5 slim with Marvel's Spider-man 2 for around £420
    Is that something that is likely to happen?.

    I wouldn't even mind the chonky PS5 with games such as God of War or Spider-man 2 for under £400
    I know around Black Friday there was a original PS5 with Last of Us Part l and Spider-man 2 for £399
