Holland & Barrett Vitamin D 400 I.U. 10ug 90 Tablets (hollandandbarrett.com/sho…140 )

Holland & Barrett Vitamin D3 contributes towards the maintenance of normal bones, muscle function and the immune system.

  • Supports the Normal Function of The Immune System
  • Contributes To the Maintenance of Normal Bones and Muscle Function
  • Suitable For Vegetarians

Benefits

  • Vitamin D is one of the body’s most important vitamins, helping it with a variety of tasks: Vitamin D contributes to the normal function of the immune system and is very important for the body’s structural system, maintaining normal bone and muscle function. Vitamin D3 also contributes to the normal absorption and utilisation of calcium and phosphorus.
  • When exposed to sunlight, our bodies will naturally make vitamin D3. This process happens when ultraviolet B (UVB) radiation from the sun triggers the 7-dehydrocholesteol to produce D3. Research suggests that everyone over the age of one years should have a daily intake of at least 10µg of Vitamin D per day to protect bone and muscle health. Government advice is that everyone should consider taking a daily vitamin D supplement, especially during the autumn and winter.

Not that you'll be bothered but there's Dr of nursing on YouTube got millions of followers during covid ...he researches papers and sources papers from around the world of trials and current thinking in the world of health ..
400 in his opinion is a joke and attempting to get NHS to look at the 400 level ...should be around 10,000 with k2 we should take but not everyone , u can get tested to see where you are with levels. Vit D can fight off cancer and most everything else if levels are good ..if you have cancer they also tell you take big doses of vit D....it's the essential defender of the immune system.. go to minute 3 in video

I have been taking Vit D for years. I read here on HukD that we should take Vitamin K2 along with Vit D2 to help with the absorption.... Anyway after a bit of research I found this to be the case and started to take K2. I generally do feel much better and my dodgy knee doesn't seem so painful. This is not medical advice just personal experience. Maybe its all in my mind.

Always interested me that taking vitamin D supplement was a key recommendation for prevention of bad cases of 'vid yet at the time there was nothing covering this on government websites, including NHS..

Personally wouldn't entertain these, even if free, 400iu is way too low a dose, maybe enough to prevent rickets but not an optimum dose, if your serious about increasing Vit D levels I'd go for the Betteryou Dlux 3000iu spray...

400iu is 10ug (microgram) and the daily recommended dose for most people

Unless you have a diagnosed problem then one of these a day is the recommended dose. Beware of cranks.

surprised nobody called this "rat poison", something the anti-supplement crowd do. I think it helps in winter but sunlight even on a cloudy day will help.. sure doesn't feel like it

I take 4000iu so this bottle wouldn't last v long. (not every day I hasten to add)
