Help with extending Wifi to the shed

Hi I have broadband Wi-Fi in my house with sky that works fine, but It doesn’t reach the shed at the bottom of the garden, So I ran a ethernet cable to the shed, its not far around 25m from the sky internet box. Now I’m not sure what to use in the shed to get Wi-Fi? I do have mains power in the shed if I need to plug anything in. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

I am no expert. We have an outdoor wifi thing so that won't help in answering your question. But if you have ethernet to your shed (and power) can you not set up a secondary access via a bridge/extender?

"set up a secondary access via a bridge/extender?" I think that’s what I want to aim for, but have no clue whatI need, is there some plug and play thing I can use? or is it a lot more involved?

I built a outside bar in the first lockdown around 25 metres from my Sky Q main box ‘ I had a spare mini box so installed sky in the bar ‘ I used a plug in Wi-Fi adapter that uses the ring electric wiring around the house ‘ because I broke onto that and ran mains out to the bar that also ment the Wi-Fi was sent outdoors ‘ making the sky mini box work fine ‘ I also use a firestick out there to watch the 3pm games and also works well

I wasnt sure they would work that far, but if they do that sounds like an easier option.

You really don't need wifi in the shed as such. You need to be able to connect devices in the shed to your router utilising the ethernet cable. So for instance you should be able to connect a switch to that cable which would then give x number of ethernet ports to connect devices to. If its a device like a mobile phone you want to connect then you can get a mobile phone ethernet adapter.

You could use a wireless access point which would keep your current network that you have in the house, and extend it to the shed. This one seems to fit the bill -> amazon.co.uk/TP-…406

Not the cheapest but probably the easiest option would be a mesh Wi-Fi system.

Almost any £2 router/AP (with a WAN port) shifted by CEX.
Or throw financial caution to the wind and blow a budget-busting £6 at the respectable TP-Link Archer VR200 AC750 complete with 2 years warranty

There's even a pretty image of the required config at TP-Link site,
but kinda assumes users will have darkwood sideboard, ceiling lights, book and plant:

If it turns out to be a bag of bolts (which it isn't), shift it on the bay for £13+.
    Winning lol

You have mains power to the shed

    Buy a pair of these.

One of these connects to the router in your house with an ethernet cable

The device in your shed can then connect to the other adapter in your shed.

If your router and shed are on different mains circuits then this will not work - you may choose to buy on amazon and return if it does not work with your set up.

If you want wifi in your shed then buy this
