Google storage

So I am at 95% of my free 15GB storage and. I am wondering what is the best way of getting free storage without having to pay. Anyone come up with any ideas? Does anyone know if the storage is based on one's email address? If so is it just a matter of creating a new email address and I can get an additional 15GB ?

    another vote for google rewards

or if it is photo/video storage you need. Buy an original google pixel/xl. Free unlimited google photo and video storage for life, at full resolution. that requires buying a phone, or having one already you can spoof as a google pixel

OR shift your photos/video to an external USB pen drive or SSD. and start the 15Gb malarkey again !

True. I have done this as a backup but it is so convenient using Google photos and having all your memories in one place.

If you use Google Opinion Rewards app (Android) you can use the credit to pay for Google One. I usually earn enough to pay for the £1.59/m 100gb plan. I have recently cleared storage from thousands of email newsletters so I have cancelled for now, but that is what I have been doing

Yeah that's what my dad does. Had another email address. And copy the files to that account. I have two accounts and one just has a 2 at the end of it.

The only issue is sometimes they need a phone number to authorise an account and you might run into issues if using same phone number. But give it a try first (edited)

Gosh! You can fit approx 8672 copies of Tolstoy's War and Peace on a 15GB drive. I'm looking forward to the day when I meet an individual who can find any one of their photos within seconds from their google drive.

I can find virtually any photo that I want from Google photos. It's the way you organise them in Albums and by year. It's Google photos which are taking a bulk of my storage.

Degoo works well for me - I really must organise my pictures better - sort them by month/year etc, but meh the system I have now works fine...

I got a cheap lifetime sub with them but their software is appalling! I've had no end of issue's with both desktop and the Android app. Cs is pretty much non existent. Cheap for a reason but great if it works for you

Both the Google Storage and Google Photos have tools to find large/blurry/etc files, worth checking them for things to delete before upgrading.

Also, you can wait longer before upgrading if you want. Google will keep warning you, but I've been sitting on 98-99% for the last half a year

People take saving a few pounds very serious. I would rather pay the £1.88 a month than spend an hour a month or more answering surveys

This is fine but as per Ring what will happen is that we will all get sucked in then bang they will increase the pricing to such a level that you can't come out....
