It will play anything that I throw at, maybe not in the highest resolution with all the extras but more than capable. I sourced most of the parts on eBay. It was actually amazed how easy everything just worked, not like the old days when I used to get incompatability issues.
Parts listed below :
Base System - Dell Optiplex Tower i5 7500 8gb Ram and 1tb Hdd £62.00 (including postage)
Graphics Card - Gtx 1650 Super £135.00
Graphic Card Power cable - 15 pin sata splitter cable to 6 pin PCI - £2.49 (the connector on this needed to be removed and the individual pins attached due to case restraints)
Memory - 2x8gb Corsair vengeance ddr4 - £37.00
PCie Nvme M.2. SSD 500gb - £39.45
Total - £275.94
(So depending on what you actually plan to use it for, you can significantly reduce the price and still have reasonable capable machine)
Oh as and addition I bought a Oculus Rift for £60 and use it to play half life Alyx.
I forgot to say these Optiplex have a windows license hard coded to them so you get a free win 11 pro upgrade too."}],"commentCount":13,"interactionStatistic":3,"articleSection":"Misc"}
