Lol this CPU isn't locked to the mobo, it's a 5800 with a custom b550 board. The win 10/11 code will be locked to the board so you'd need to grab a key off a key off a seller. Tbh givern the tumbling GPU prices and the hassle if your thinking of a motherboard swap it doesn't represent great value in the short term. If you just want to just plug and play then it is a great deal with warranty etc.

Good deal. I wanted to separate my main pc to make a decent powered media server and have a device just for gaming.

Really? https://www.servethehome.com/lenovo-vendor-locking-ryzen-based-systems-with-amd-psb/

I don't think Lenovo can take a CPU and physically make it not work with anything else.

You may not be able to swap out the motherboard and keep the same CPU as Lenovo are known for locking AMD CPUs to their own boards.

This one shouldn't be more than £2K max with the Razer tax, with a discount on top of even that for it to be a relatively good deal

3060 muhahaha; good one.

Save yourself a grand and get a Lenovo 5i pro

It's a good spec laptop if you were paying less than half of this price.

Hahahahahaha (lol) (lol) (lol) (lol) (lol)

We have some define R6's in the office too - smaller, but will still take a decent number of 3.5 inch drives - better cases for someone who wants a smaller tower - was thinking of replacing my define XL 2 at home with an R6 but then I can't be bothered taking it all apart so held off so far.

My advice for the Define series is to replace the terrible plastic feet. I drilled holes to fit M4 bolts and replaced them with hifi aluminium ones. Doesnt take much effort and is much sturdier for a large-ish case. Can't fault Fractal build quality otherwise (probably why they changed the style of the feet too).

Great case! Have been using one for about 1.5 years when I last did a build

Ive just this min bought a Define R6 for a nice slowish build over the next couple of months

Cheers, my current one is a 10 year old Antec case, don't want quite the same monster again if I can avoid it but I do need that storage haha.

HP Pavilion 542S5EAABU 15.6" Gaming Laptop, Shadow Black - £494.10 using code delivered (UK Mainland) @ AO

That's a bit extreme. It's not cutting edge by any means but it'll be perfectly fine for casual gaming and some more demanding titles if you're willing to compromise on settings.

Don't be silly.

Thanks for posting. I bought it off ao.com on ebay as the delivery appears to be a lot quicker for some reason (or you pay for quicker delivery directly from ao) Seems to be selling fast so consider the same one at Costco (few quid more): https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/hp-pavilion-intel-core-i5-8gb-ram-512gb-ssd-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1650-156-ips-gaming-laptop-ps49999-delivered-members-at-costco-3930632 It's for a 12 year old who'll play Roblox type of games so will be sufficient. I've been searching hard on here and online and the winner within my budget is this for these reasons: Dedicated 4gb GPU (so not eating off the 8gb ram) Ram upgradeable to 32gb (16x2) Backlit keyboard 512gb hard drive (usually had to opt for half of this in my budget) It's not the shape I'd have preferred but it's not for me and my kid has a sleek Chromebook to please me 8) I did prefer the Ryzen 5 5500U CPUs in my shortlist but I don't think it's far off. The battery on some of the others may have been a bit better too This is also quad core (unlike the hex core Ryzen) I think this is £799 at John Lewis (my safe place) and £650 at Very. I'm out of touch with tech (so much has changed) but the above info is to save anyone searching. This was a close second: https://www.currys.co.uk/products/dell-inspiron-14-5415-14-laptop-amd-ryzen-5-256-gb-ssd-silver-10230731.html I get a further 6% off through work so cheaper but I'd have to pay £30 to upgrade the ram to 16gb. Still appears to be a solid laptop/good build judging by reviews

You won’t be doing much gaming on that gpu

MEDION Erazer Engineer P10 Gaming Desktop Intel Core i7 12700 16GB RAM 1 TB SSD RTX 3060 Ti £1199.99 + £6.19 delivery @ Ebuyer

I've been looking for a 12th Gen Gaming PC with a 3060Ti and came across this. I saw it was on ALDI but had sold out, looks like ebuyer have managed to get hold of it. Intel Core i7 12700…

Thanks for posting and well done on your first hotukdeals thread (highfive)

The £950 12400F/3060Ti was a smashing "1st" 12400F spec with the 3060Ti at a decent price but sadly didn't last long better soon came along. this is +250 more for a £130 more CPU and £35 double nvme. for £1206....... u could do a 5800X +3070 for £1250 (5600x at £1125 is the prime deal) for 8cores. and thats without going into this aldi low bios, bad cl rams and inwin psu. and if u really insist in a 12700 / 3060Ti u can do far better in this: https://www.fiercepc.co.uk/intel-12400f-nvidia-rtx-3060ti-custom-gaming-pc where u can build a 1270/3060Ti for the same cost with windows with 1TB nvme but u get a better PSU and a better case and B560 better bios, from there u can drop the windows, u can upgrade the case even further, u can remove the storage and add ur own, or go for the main price deal at 500gb

I have the i5 version and it is great. But seems the i7 with this mobo is not a great option. So I would not bother paying the extra. https://youtu.be/4gv-_ItnWfg

Defo better GPU for the money but HP will run hotter and it has a proprietary mobo - also with 5700g you're limited to PCIe gen3. This has a better CPU and standard components down to a gigabyte mobo and with this being B560 mobo if I remember correctly from Aldi deal so should support Gen4 PCIe. GPU in the Medion seems to be branded Zotac too. It feels like Medion offers a bit more upgrade path in the future. I searched the deals and checked Aldi website aldi.co.uk/medion-i7-rtx3060ti-16gb-512gb-ssd/p/720882596019400?utm_source=awin&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=249371-http%3A%2F%2Fwww.digidip.net%2F&awc=19523_1653503565_a53cda7bbaa5f13bc68e95b59cdd86db That medion is still available. The only difference being storage at 512gb but it costs 100£ less and I feel like it would be a better buy then this.

I'd probably go for the HP AMD / 3070ti on costco but still a fair deal

had mine hooked up to amd laptop before getting a desktop no issues

I have 2 of these on vesa mounts no adapter needed

This should work no problem with an amd laptop right?

The ppi will be a downgrade. You might want two qhd monitors but it depends on use case. "The USB-C ports can output a 4k @ 120Hz signal using a USB-C to DisplayPort dongle after updating macOS 12.2.1." via rtings re the Mac air. But is the air suited for gaming? And can it do full hd at 165hz, do you care? I would be tempted to get this as a second monitor. But can't find much info regarding text clarity. I want it for work rather than gaming.

Ordered thanks op. Heat from me.
