Selling old DVDs

Hi all, where would the best place be to sell a box full of old dvds, I've collected these over the past 20 odd years.... I was thinking of selling via music magpie or taking them into vex, although cex staff may cry if I do with so many in the box.

Thanks all

My advice, hold onto them. The prices are about to go up for physical media not available on streaming platforms. Maybe blu rays will be worth more than DVD's, depends what you have.

Some DVD box sets are worth good money, but single DVD's are pretty much worthless. I'd hold on to them or give to charity if they're taking up space.

I took some to charity shop the other day and even they didn't want them, said they don't take in dvd or cd's anymore

Same here, there is just so little value in physical media that we've kept hold of them and put them in the loft. Once the world ends and we have no internet then I can use them in exchange for food.

I dedcided to keep my physical collection as the majority I own I paid full price for ( ;() and the thought of only geting 10p for it just didn't sit well. I don;t even want to begin to work how much I paid for them over the years as there are well over 2000 disks.

It's a spinny disc you own and can use when the online companies decide they don't want your money any more and cancel your right to view stuff you've "bought" from them.

(I'm not one for using pirated sources, and quite happily still pay for physical media - and downloads that are not DRM'ed. For example I listen to some musical artists who do not have huge sales, and would rather they still had some income to allow them to create new material.)

Thanks all, sadly I live in a flat and have no space as the mrs wanted them gone. I'll go throguh then and pull out the box sets and stuff I think is worth keeping and get rid of the rest.

If you just want rid (and not money) then stick them on Facebook Marketplace.

My cex are fine when I used to take lots of DVDs in, most were only 10p as well

Scan the barcode at WeBuyBooks they for me are the better option to MM

Don't bother, they are worth pennies, its more hassle than it's worth. Will cost you as much in Bus fare or fuel to take them to CEX. Put them in a box in the loft so you've got something to watch when the Internet breaks.

If you can be bothered download the WeBuyBooks, Ziffit & eBay apps.
Zap the barcodes with eBay to see if you have any rareties (check sold items).
    Otherwise, compare WBB & Ziffit.
If they are run of the mill ones then prepare to be disappointed.
I found that Music Magpie pay the least but accept more. WBB pay more but are more selective.

Physical media discs are pretty much worthless now, looks on FB marketplace and you see people giving them away.
Some charity shops still accept them but alot don't.
I was in a charity shop recently and they were selling bin bags of hundreds of random dvds for £5.
A house a few streets away are having a house clearance, they had thousands of dvds outside their house with a "FREE" sign. After a few days and some rain. Those dvds are in a skip on their drive.
