Sending a parcel to Ireland

Hey I was wondering if anyone has any advice on sending my parcel to Ireland?

The parcel is a gift to a friend valued £44, 3.5kg and has figures, plush toys, chocolate, rock candy, books mostly.

I tried sending twice through Royal Mail but it failed Anpost customs for either wrong commodity codes or the post office putting £0 on a value (the returned parcel says £1 so???)

I can't keep failing and losing the shipping money and I'm out of ideas.

I tried checking UPS but they have a £52 brokerage fee (on a £44 valued parcel) and all the other postal services don't allow confectionery/chocolate...

Please help out a stressed person who is close to giving up, like what do I even do I'm pretty desperate and not sure how to get it through without issues

Thanks!

Might be cheaper to fly there and back on a budget airline!

Would be a good idea if the parcel wasn't so big it's currently I think 47, 32, 27.

Can you not do your own label online via royal mail? they will collect ur parcel and can bring label if u don't have a printer.
at very least, you can see all the options available.

I did that for my first try, they didn't bring a label as their printer broke. 🫠

    UPS shows 14.99 for a 3.5 parcel 40x30x20 cm

That doesn't include the brokerage charge my friend would be hit with (£50) so I feel like it's a no go at this point

Do your own Royal Mail label online, including filling in the CN22 form.

I did that for my first try but apparently I had given incorrect/incomplete codes for customs (I used Royal Mails tool)

I was also told by RM directly i don't even need the codes because it's a gift but it's so confusing.

I'm not sure if I am going to be able to send this, it is financially draining me and my friend overall, it is causing a LOT of strain as it is constant stress because of how long it's been.

My current idea is to split it between ups and evri/something

Had the items not been bought already, the easiest thing to do would've been to have just sent your friend the money to treat themselves to whatever...
