Micro SD

Hi... Advice needed.
Does anyone know the best way to view a micro sd card without a laptop?
Is there a viewer you can purchase?
Thanks in advance.

READ MICRO SD CARD VIA ANDROID PHONE:

Some of the comments suggest plugging in a USB card reader into your phone. However they omit a critical requirement that your phone MUST support the USB OTG (On-The-Go) specification, else plugging in a USB card reader into your phone will do nothing.

Generally speaking, most low end phones do NOT support the USB OTG specification.

If you are not planning on using a USB card reader dongle, then the USB card reader will need a complementary USB OTG cable (a bog standard USB cable is not adequate – it lacks the extra pin to attach to the extra pin on the USB OTG port).

To establish whether your phone possesses a USB OTG port, check it on m.gsmarena.com/sea…hp3

To surveil the contents of your microSD card, you'll need a PROPER file explorer (Android's built in explorer is both crude and rubbish). I highly recommend the most excellent app named 'Total Commander' – an exceptional app. Download it from:

    play.google.com/sto…der

If you hate Google with a vengeance, I suggest getting it direct from the developer:

    A magnifying glass would do.

No way near powerful enough. If you want to read, really really want to read the data on an microSD card, your best bet is an electron microscope.

You need to define what you need to view?
    The card its self
    pictures
    text
    videos
or just a genral file browser

There are so many ways and different gadgets that can read/ view micro sd cards, but unless you define the type of file you want to read then it’s very difficult to recommend a solution for your issue.
for example you can plug micro sd cards (With adapter if necessary) into suitable phones, tablets, Tvs, hi fi systems, car stereos, cameras, photo viewers, portable DVD players, MP3 players etc etc etc but not every device can read every different type of file. Examples are TVs may play films, music and photos on the card but may not text, MP3 player will play music but can’t play videos, a camera can view photos but can’t play music etc.
probably the most versatile is the use of suitable phone or tablet with card slot, with the right app, you can read most types of files.
if you are going to buy a reader anyway I would probably suggest using the money and put it towards a laptop / chromebook. A new chromebook can be had for under £100, I bought a refurbished chromebook for about £70-£80 on eBay (Hukd deal), it didn’t come with original box but was as new including factory wrapping on the chrome book, charger and cable. the advantage of using a laptop/ pc/ chromebook is that you can read most file types with the right app but you can also move, amend, delete and copy the files on the card so you can back up and duplicate files and share files with others.

I'm assuming your phone doesn't take a micro SD so what about getting an adapter to plug it into your phones usb port so you can see it on the files app, they're a couple of quid on eBay.

If you have a new enough TV with a USB port you can get a cheap USB SD card reader. There was a deal on here many moons ago for a Canon connect station CS100 which was a dedicated photo viewer box.

Most Android tablets can view the contents of a micro SD card and can view a standard size one via a USB connected reader...
