I'm considering getting a Arcade game or 2 for use at home and was wondering what the best option is.
Specifically I really want classic Mortal Kombat, but possibly others too and am considering the Arcade1up version.
However, feedback is mixed on the Arcade1up games whenever there's a deal for one, so was wondering what other options there are?
And how hard is it to add more games to a Arcade1up unit?
Thanks.","comment":[{"@type":"Comment","@id":"https://www.hotukdeals.com/comments/permalink/52415466","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Daniels8n"},"datePublished":"2024-03-19T12:16:07.000Z","text":"I bought the original street fighter 2 arcade 1up when it first came out and it was good but not great. Adding more games basically meant ripping most of the guts of it out, this changed for me when intel released their Gaming stick for Switch. What I now have is an arcade 1up with a load of arcade games bought on my Switch including SF, MK, also plays great for most of the retro games consoles on the Switch. The cherry on top for me is I can also play House of the Dead on it. As I understand it the unit can also be used with other consoles and PC, quite a few youtube videos on it.

You'll play it with or without friends a handful of times and it'll just sit there taking up space. The reason why arcade games are enjoyable is because you need to pay to pay, therefore you try your best not to \"die\". With an arcade machine at home, unless you're going to start charging people to play, you basically have unlimited lives... BORING!"},{"@type":"Comment","@id":"https://www.hotukdeals.com/comments/permalink/52421810","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"bigwheels"},"datePublished":"2024-03-20T09:36:02.000Z","text":"I had a very bad addiction to fruit machines in the past.
So started to buy them off ebay for home use.
I have had 9 so far over the years.
Still have one, Popeye £100 jackpot.
Not used in 2 years.
Pro's & cons.
Pro It helped me get over my addiction.
So board with them now I could not be bothered to go into an arcade last week on the sea front.
Cons, had 6 in my garage at one point.
A bugger to get rid off.
At near on 200kg each."},{"@type":"Comment","@id":"https://www.hotukdeals.com/comments/permalink/52457343","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Conkers816"},"datePublished":"2024-03-25T15:43:36.000Z","text":"The other option is to go LARGE

It's possible to add games to this as well with a bit of fiddling. AtGames issued a firmware update a year or two ago that hobbled the \"bring your own games\" feature for reasons nobody really knows but there's an easily obtainable package called \"CoinOpsX\" that still works that has hundreds and hundreds of games available on it."}],"commentCount":16,"interactionStatistic":9,"articleSection":"Ask"}
