Wifi for camera doorbell on electric gates

We have notoriously poor WiFi signal in our bungalow since renovating. The combination of heavily insulated walls and triple glazing means we barely get wifi from one end of the bungalow to the other.

We have a double garage 30m from the house with power and another 5m on from there the gates. We want a video doorbell on the outside of our electric gates but once you step outside our front door the wifi in non existent and certainly we can't pick anything up 35m away!

So, should we look at a 3 device mesh system with one device connected in the office to the router, one in the garage and perhaps one in our furthest away rooms which is closest to the gate or should we just replace our router for something significantly more powerful or would this be unlikely to give us the wifi strength we need. Thanks

Powerline adaptors could be an option if you don't want to drill a hole and run ethernet cables. I believe you can get a powerline adaptor with POE if you want to power a camera.

Do you any suggestions of the sort of product I should look for? Thanks so much.

So, we realised we have a Cat5 ethernet socket in our living room, mid way between the office and the furthest point of the bungalow (bedroom). So we got the AX3000 dual band range extender and it barely extends the signal to the bedroom 10 metres away let alone outside. It seems to be difficult in a bungalow for signals to reach rather than boosting a signal upstairs (the solid walls and insulation are proving difficult). So suggestions of something more powerful than this extender.....

Perhaps you have foil lined insulation in the walls?

Have you looked into using powerline adaptors to send ethernet over the mains to the garage, although if and how well it works will depend on the house wiring and any sources of electrical interference, such as faulty electrical appliances.

I gather they don't work reliably if plugged into a surge protected extension lead, so need to go in wall sockets, and if you mix different standards such as AV600 and AV1300 they'll all work at the lowest speed. If you have 3 phase they definitely won't work across different phases.

You can get starter kits with one wifi enabled one that could go in the garage and a non-wifi one that you connect to your router via ethernet cable, or buy a more basic non-wifi kit and use it with the range extender you've already bought in the garage.
