About this deal

Lowest I have seen it on here - usually around £700. Gets good reviews - though I am sure there will be much debate on what is the best machine to buy in the comments!

Key Features

The Barista Pro offers barista quality performance with a new intuitive interface that provides all the information you need to make coffee exactly the way you like it. The built in precision conical burr grinder delivers the right amount of ground coffee on demand, for full flavour. This combined with a 3 second heat up time and precise espresso extraction, and you can go from bean to cup, faster than ever before.

The Barista Pro allows you to achieve a consistent and balanced espresso by using the right amount of ground coffee. Filling the 54mm porta-filter with 18 grams is the key for full flavour and third wave specialty coffee.

The innovative ThermoJet heating system achieves the optimum extraction temperature in 3 seconds with instantaneous transition from espresso to steam. Make your best coffee without the wait.

Digital Temperature Control (PID) delivers water at the right temperature +/- 2°c, ensuring optimal espresso extraction. Low pressure pre-infusion gradually increases pressure at the start and helps ensure all the flavours are drawn out evenly during the extraction for a balanced tasting cup.

The powerful steam wand performs at the level that allows you to hand texture micro-foam milk that enhances flavour and enables creation of latté art.

    Not bean to cup.

I have this machine and love it but it isn’t bean to cup. Please expect to learn how to make espresso if this is your first machine.

It’s a manual espresso machine with a built in grinder.

I only went by the description but changed the title now.

Can anyone recommend beans that work well with this machine?

Coffee beans work great, baked beans not so much..

I have the Barista Touch and use it literally every day, brilliant machine

Same here. Barista Touch Impressa. Amazing machine used daily. Replaced a broken 13 Yr old Jura Ena9 bean to cup machine.

Best price in ages for this great all in one machine brand new from a good retailer. If you learn how to use this and buy decent beans you will be able to make excellent espresso and espresso based coffees.

Personally I prefer seperating the grinder and espresso machine as you can upgrade, repair and replace easier, but it is personal choice. I also prefer buying heavier duty machines 2nd hand though and tinkering with them, which is definitely not for everyone.

How does this compare to the Barista Express Impress?
    nhs007's avatar
    Milk boiler hits temperature faster.
Milk froths faster due to having multiple steam outlets.
Tamping is manual but assisted on the Impress.
Greater number of steps on grinder on the Pro

Anyone know if this is available in-store? Thanks in advance

Not seen them in Bristol store.

This a great coffee machine and really easy to use, within a day of learning it, you'll be making great coffee without much of a thought. Just so a bit of research on how to do the espresso shot first

I mean it is bean to cup, but you just gave to do it yourself. Coffee in the hopper, grind it into the basket, tamp, lock into the shower head, press brew done.

I really wouldn't be intimidated by it, it's a piece of piss.

Foaming milk properly or doing latte art, that's the real challenge

I'd say getting a great espresso out of one of these manual machines can be more challenging than getting milk texture right - atleast in my experience!

Brilliant machine have this in stainless steel for 3 years and is excellent. As Alex says though u do need to understand how to make a coffee

I am sure there is now a degree course available somewhere

We have a Sage Barister Express machine, 5 years now and still going strong. It is a steep learning curve if you've never used it before, but it is well worth it in the long run. It's a hefty investment but we have probably saved more by making coffee at home instead of getting takeaway than the whole cost of the machine

I have Sage Barista Express which I bought for £423.96 from Lakeland in Sept 2023 when it was on offer, HUKD deal. Since then Its been a coffee every day in the afternoon. Love it.

Is there any way to purchase this via Costco without membership (£33.60 with requirements).
    YeoYeo's avatar
No, membership is needed for Costco purchases. They do offer an “online only” membership for £15/year.

    Thanks Op

But its still not got features it should have at that price.

    Its only a coffee machine.

What are the features you would look for?

Great price for a great machine - I have one and paid £100 more last year. Heat added.

Im a month in and love mine. I only have 2 a day. May be a bit of a faff if having any more than 2 a day to be honest

Thanks so much for this. Saved me £100, even with NHS discount via Sage

I have this morning in Stainless steel. A great bean to coffee maker

SAGE is an espresso machine, so you'll have to do a bit yourself, and if you muck it up it'll be bad coffee, but it'll be miles better than the Siemans EQ6. That said, the Siemens will give you great coffee, consistently, with minimal effort.

I have this exact machine and love it. Decided to get rid of my Melita bean to cup machine as the brewing unit needs frequent cleaning which is a PITA. This also makes better coffee once you learn how to use it.

I don’t use mine as much as I thought I would… maybe selling it on! It’s quite an expensive piece of kit.
  21. MBruce's avatar
Got one, lasted 4 days before the pump just ran constantly draining the tank. Apparently it's a board fault and needs replaced. Not exactly reassuring.

What a shame this is restricted to the Black version. The all stainless steel version looks so much classier, IMHO. Think I would rather pay £599 elsewhere for all stainless steel version.
