Buying my first bbq. Which are best

I am actually going to buy my very first bbq but wondered if anyone could give me some advice please.
I have a budget of about £350. Was looking at a gas one. What are the benefits of a dual fuel? Do I need a smoker? How many burners will I need to cook for about 8 people? Also what makes are good and which should I avoid.
Didn’t realise how many makes and types there are. All help appreciated.

Weber master touch is my fav. Had a few and can’t fault this.

Thank you. So you are in favour of traditional bbq as opposed to gas?

Weber's last absurdly well, have had one out in terrible Scottish weather year round for a decade now and it's still rust free.

    Horses for courses.
My main priority would be ease of cleaning.. Cooking for 20 mins then cleaning for 30 would be a huge waste of my time.

Agree with you 100%. Well worth the initial investment. Best barbecue I’ve ever purchased and par with my Tandoor

I have the Outback spectrum 3 burner and couldn’t be happier…great build quality and easy to clean!

You got me thinking on the age and this June it turns 8 and it’s still going strong.

The only issue in that time was the igniter wire detaching from burner 2, easy fix though.

Looks to be £20 over your budget unless you find a code…have cooked for 10 with it too.

Thank you. I will look in to that one. I can manage another £20 if I can’t find a code. Hoping to get one by next weekend before they all start selling out or prices sneak up.

We've had a John Lewis one (4 burners and a desperate gas ring) for 4 years. It's been excellent to be honest. The only bit that's rusted is the useless bottle opener.
The 3 burner one is on offer at the moment and obviously comes with the 2 year guarantee.

I originally went down the charcoal route thinking traditional is best and my Weber has been decent and lasted a long time, even with falling over in high winds and the odd scar or two.
However having switched to a Charbroil Platinum gas bbq I wouldn't go back.
There's something to be said for just literally going out and firing it up immediately which has enabled us to use it much more than we would have done charcoal.
The cleanliness and ease of use makes gas far more appealing to me at least.
