Buying TV - so confused please help

Somebody please help me to buy a 55" TV. I am so confused by it all.

I am looking to buy a 55" TV with a max budget of £450ish. My previous LED failed after 14 months. So, thinking of buying something better than just LED (eg. QLED, QNED, or something).

So, I see Hisense is around my budget with 5 year warranty from Marks Electrical but people say it's not great tv. I should look at LG, Samsung or Panasonic but they are so much more expensive when looking at qled, one, etc.

So, can someone recommend something I can buy around £450ish please?

Thanks.

i just got an ambilight 55" with 6yr warranty for £429 from richer sounds. i'm now a convert to ambilight even though the TV OS is dog poo.

Also i would be looking at a Consumer rights act 2015 claim for a TV that died after only 14 months.

So, the picture quality is good? What is the product name/number? Thanks.

Buy from Richer Sounds , John Lewis, etc. where a free 5 Year Warranty is offered. Personally I prefer LG TVs for picture quality and value for money, we do have a Panasonic high end and a Sony but the LG ( Nano Cell) is better. Our older LG is still going after 10 years now with a family member. (edited)

Thank you so much. LG it is then for me.

No suggestions for new TV, but did you buy your now-busted Toshiba from Argos?
If so, Argos will be happy to consider your Consumer Rights Act claim for premature-failure at 14 months - as should any other trader, regardless of trader arrogance or ignorance.

It would be difficult for any trader to argue that even a supermarket-quality TV did not have sufficient durability to function beyond 14 months,
and although the Tosh brand owner will have no interest it is unlikely to tolerate a trader suggesting its brand is routinely expected to have such poor durability.

It was a present & unfortunately no receipt. So, no go there but extremely useful information. Thank you.

LED, QLED, QNED etc. are essentially just marketing terms for different ranges rather than meaningfully different technologies with different tolerances to failure.

Ah right. So, I can get away with another LED TV and I won't be missing much!

You could try Costco with 5 years warranty. £15 for joining online.
Their CS tends to be good.
