Just to remind ppl who have Lloyds bank silver or above: AA is one of benefits included.

Only thing is you don't get a membership card so don't get the benefits discounts etc.

Rescuemycar seems a cheaper alternative. Ive had the cover but never used it, so can’t speak to service. Reviews seem good though.

I've used them for a breakdown, absolutely shocking service. And I switched to aa. Alot of people that have actually broken down with rescuemycar experience the same issues with them. Briefly I broke down 250 miles from home I had the top breakdown package with them. They refused to recover me home as you have to wait 48 hours if a local garage can't repair. The good reviews are from people who haven't broken down or have broken down with minor issues check on Google. Mine was a coolant leak. (edited)

Had a couple of bad experiences with the AA now, used them twice in 8 years and both times they've let me down - wouldn't take it at any price.

Never had an issue with Start rescue personally the price is decent and they usually come out pretty quick.

A bit tempting, but nearly 20years of driving, I never needed breakdown cover.

Pros of this vs what you get with the nationwide flexplus current account?
    Aliwoo18's avatar
I guess with this at least when the AA let you down, you can try to claim some money back - when I complained to Nationwide (the AA failed to even answer, let alone attend when my wife's car broke down), they fobbed me off by saying that as it was a packaged benefit with the account, they couldn't refund anything for the lack of service. Couldn't be bothered trying to argue further, just switched accounts.

My gift card took a little over 6 weeks when I got this deal back in December but I did actually recieve it. £20 for AA is a really good deal.

Good deal, got this in Jan. when it was posted.
Finally got the voucher this week after a lot of phone calls and hassle trying to get it.
Won`t go for gift card deal again.
The link above for the £20 deal is probably much better.

why is this getting heat when the deal doesn't exist??? no one has said they got this price!
  22. Tank12345's avatar
if you pay yearly - its £39 - and you will get your voucher within 6 weeks - so effectively its £19.

Go through this every time. The price is £39 not £19 the voucher is a sale gimmick to get you to buy.
