they have to draw the line somewhere. it's easier to administer this way too, as far as IDs in a queue go
don't forget those that chase after armed crooks or bring the dead back to life in the back of a truck rarely get anything back but the student child of a millionaire family gets generous discounts at almost every place all year round

    Taken from Icelands twitter:

"The advert wasn’t approved by advertising regulators as it was seen to be in support of a political issue. The production and widespread usage of palm oil is a complex and sometimes controversial matter." (edited)

I like the direction Iceland are going in. Not selling items with palm oil and discounts for emergency services. I’ve started doing quite a bit of my shopping at Iceland recently as they have had some good offers on too.

I asked that Iceland staff this afternoon

All you need to do is to show your NHS work ID badge. That’s what I did few hours ago, no other card was needed.

Any Bonus Card and your workplace Photo ID. Otherwise people would take or lend their blue light cards to anyone and the whole scheme would end up being abused, bringing its demise. I work in the NHS (though on annual leave at the moment) and get the discounts and offers with an old style red Bonus Card and workplace photo ID card.

As if they care with all the coverage it's had - almost as if they planned it that way - hmmm!

Actually, you only need ID once, and you can exchange your normal bonus card for a light blue colour bonus card.

And you do not require to be a member of BlueLightCard.co.uk, unless you wish to shop online and claim the £4 off £40 spend using the personal code given by them.

Further, if you shop between the 26/11 & 16/12, you get the 10% discount extended all the way throughout January too.

    Gotta love Iceland!

    ... Quote from email ...

"COMING SOON...10% OFF FOR EMERGENCY SERVICES EMPLOYEES. LIMITED TIME ONLY 26TH NOV TO 16TH DEC. A SPECIAL CHRISTMAS THANK YOU.

10% off coming soon - spread the word!
From 26th November - 16th December, Emergency Services employees can receive 10% off their shopping at any Iceland or The Food Warehouse store - simply show valid ID*.

    That’s not all…
Swipe your Bonus Card at the same time and we’ll give you 10% off in January too!†

Need a replacement Bonus Card? No problem! Call our Customer Care Team on 0800 328 0800 and we’ll send you a replacement card.

£4 off £40 online for Blue Light Card members
We're also offering Blue Light Card members the opportunity to receive £4 off when you spend £40 or more online††. Simply, log in to bluelightcard.co.uk to claim your unique code and enter it at the checkout when you shop with us online."

And ... As a bit of a code stack ...

If you add money on to your normal/blue Bonus Card, you'd normally get an extra £1 per £20 added, but the expired double offer promotion has been extended and you get £2 added to your Bonus Card per £20 saved again.

So, you get the NHS 10% discount, and the equivalent 10% discount on your payment too.

e.g. If you select £125 of shopping, and use your light blue Iceland Bonus Card, you'd only be paying £112.50 due to the 10% discount - But, if you added £100 on to your Iceland Bonus Card, they give you £10 extra as a promotion extension, and if you use the Iceland Bonus Card as part payment for the £112.50, you'd only need to get £2.50 out of your pocket.

Ergo, £125 of stuff, would only cost you £102.50 ... If my math is correct ... And, you would also get free home delivery!

Bet there's a cashback kinda thingy going about from QuidCo or some other site, or promotion from Visa/AmEx/PayPal to lol

If all you are doing is complaining about the sign in a supermarket "Feminine Hygiene" is somehow offensive then even £1 pa is over paid ! (edited)

Don't worry about the Salvation army.... there doing just fine....

Especially when they appointed lawyers to drain every little thing they could out of my deceased Aunts will.
She left them something small, and they came after whatever they could get there hands on.
