100%, this TV is overkill for running the Series S. But technically it will play games just fine on it so whatever. They seem to be struggling to shift XSS units and that's probably why the bundle. If this came with a PS5 it would be out of stock already.
The ones that can't do VRR, 120fps,Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision for games. (edited)

No nothing as dark as that, just a deal some might find suits their needs. Also it might be that the XBS is widely available, reasonably priced and great value, making this an attractive package. Surely you can see that?.
Very similar tbh (pretty sure I read it's the same panel) although updated OS, better remote and this year's model includes Freeview Play. The G1 is this year's premium model with better panel, but that doesn't include a stand
But pairing it with a PS5 wouldn't be as beneficial in showing off the TV's capabilities, other than some higher resolution output.
The Series S supports HDR in all games developed in Direct X11 or above (including last gen) the PS5 supports fewer titles in this regard.
The Series S has VRR support, the PS5 does not.
The Series S has Dolby Vision support, the PS5 does not.
The Series S runs 56 games at 120hz. The PS5 supports just 13.
So, yeah.

40+ games that have a 120fps mode on the Series S so I can't see what the problem is, People really do have it in for the Series S and we've not even had any proper next-gen games yet.
I managed to pick up a barely used one for £150 from someone who said it was "Trash".
We don't even have proper next-gen games yet and so people already dismissing its "Inferior" to the series X.... (edited)
So LG models work like this you have the OLED bit then the
size so 48, 55, 65, 77,
\Then the Model, which goes A, B, C, G
so A is bottom of the range, its an OLED panel but only 60HZ with the same processor as the B in that gen
Then the gen so 2 years ago was "9", last year was "X" this year is "1"
The step up from A, is B Series which is 120HZ and maybe a bit brighter.
People then say the step up from B Series to C Series with the better processor and again brighter panel and which people call bright enough to get away with HDR (but for the avg person it looks amazing so, do u really need 2000 nit QLED?) (supposedly you need 1000 nits while the CX hits 7/800 nits) (and maybe some other stuff i cant remember is worth it.) C used to be the best panel same as the models above it but this gen it isnt.
Then you have the G (£1.8k i think), this years G1 is a step up from the C model with a better panel, 10% brighter and maybe some other stuff too, but is wall mounted only. but its a lot and not everyone has santa delivering for them So most people stick with the C (if they can its still £1k+...)
So this is a good deal because last years 48CX is £1000 at Costco, the difference between this year and last years model isnt huge, But this deal takes the new 48C1 down to 1050 without the console so the deal has gotten hot.
OLEDs only get to 800 nits? i think so if u want an OLED or a QLED depends on how much and how dark you can get ur room, as then maybe a QLED could be better.

do you need 120Hz? HDMI 2.1 is only needed i believe for 4k 120, otherwise HDMI 2.0 works just fine. The Sony OLED's then for example hit 100Hz is that really such a bad step down? The LG A1 only hit 60hz.
The Xbox Series has a about 60 games hit 120Hz, but is the step down in visual quality/detail worth the jump from 60 to 120HZ?
Just some stuff to think about, OLEDs are not perfect. but they are really good which is why so many get excited about it.
If u got 200k spare then go for the Nano-QLED about 150k but then gets around the OLED issue of not bright enough, and the QLED issue of not enough dimming zones. (the ipad has 250 but the 77" QLED has only 1000, think about the size difference, kinda mad).
edit 2: was about to get the Samsung G7, maybe get an OLED next year with potentially cheaper 1000 nit panels. But consoles wise the only way you get VRR above 60Hz is via HDMI 2.1 so thats a pretty important difference between HDMI 2.1 and 2.0 not just the 4k 120hz, So the G7 for example over HDMI 2.0 wont support VRR above 60 so not a good idea for console and also something to keep in mind for TVs too. obviously if ur not fussed about consoles then 2.1 might not be a big deal for you. idk still mixed, do i go for an oled or something cheaper to bridge the gap while i wait (edited)
I think the C1, B1 etc are this years equivalents of the CX and BX (although the A1 seems to be replacing the BX in some locales, not sure what the difference is)
Buy from somewhere like Costco, John Lewis or Richer Sounds and it doesn’t matter if it goes wrong in 5 / 6 years. Just had a tv from Costco go wrong after 4 years and got a full refund.
That "budget console" has features you will only see if using a premium TV. How many cheaper sets support 120Hz, VRR, Dolby Vision, etc.? There are aspects of picture quality which go beyond the hardware spec.
Pairing a Series S up with one of these isn't that crazy. Especially at this price. (edited)

A1 is the entry level and new to the range for 2021. It has no HDMI 2.1 ports or variable refresh rate seen in latest consoles and new PC graphics cards. The 48" C1 will be more expensive due to these features being included but also the fact it shares a manufacturing line with the 77". As it costs more to produce LG happily pass the additional cost on to the consumer!
Last year's 48" CX remained around the £1500 for a long time after coming to market. It was £2-300 more than the 55" until recently where we have seen both drop below £1k for the first time.
The CX and C1 share the same Oled panel and differences are neglible from the reviews posted.
LG marketed the 48" as a monitor replacement last year and having had the larger 65" for over a year now I can attest to it being a fantastic gaming screen.

I believe all LG Oleds nowadays come with HDMI 2.1 which should give you 120hz @ 4k
Conversely anyone who spends less than £600 is the product (advertising, data etc). Our last TV is still going strong after over 10 years (Sony bravia 50 inch) so has more than made up its cost of probably around £1000 in its day so any TV that lasts that long I'd happily pay for.
All depends what you value. Not saying this is a good deal either because I wouldn't pay this for this TV or similar. (edited)
Richer sounds wouldn't give you a full refund, but only a fraction of what you paid depending on how many years you have had the TV. The value depreciates over time basically.
I already own a Series X - I'm tempted to get this and use the Series S in my bedroom.
3840x2160 is as "real" 4K as 4096x2160. The former is used in monitors and TV, where the common aspect ratio is 16:9. The latter is the "DCi" resolution used in Digital Cinema - it's a 1.9:1 aspect ratio which is kind of high for cinema (outside Imax of course), so they can go down to 4096×1716 for the wide (2.39:1) films. The "4K" just means around 4 thousand pixels horizontal, they won't advertise something as 3.84K.
I have been seriously annoyed since the whole 2K/4K thing started, which only started by marketing departments wanting to advertise higher resolutions. Given that there are so varying aspect ratios you get confusing information about the actual resolution. If you say 2160p, you know what resolution you are talking about, the horizontal is just about what aspect ratio you have, you expect 16:9 for most monitors, for a 21:9, it will have to give you 5K horizontal resolution, which makes sense - a 4k 21:9 monitor is just 1600p, you will scale down 2160p media to watch it.
I have a 49 inch TV and I have my pc hooked up to it.
At the distance I sit I can't tell the difference between 1080 and 4k.
Close up using a monitor is a different story.
If games are running at 120fps you're going to notice that more.
Contacted Curry’s helpline to query this. Her explanation was due to bundle deal I only paid £828.80 for the TV which would explain the 10%. That would mean the Xbox and game pass would be over £500 which doesn’t make any sense. She advised me to go in store so they could explain the breakdown on my invoice. Smells fishy to me. Still a good deal though considering the retail value of the TV and Xbox combined.
But you were commenting that you needed 4K. The PS5 won’t get you native 4K.
So what is it you want?
Assume you are just a PS fanboy and anything else is rubbish ?
PS5 is good, XB Series X is good, Series S is good for the the price, PC is good, Switch is good. Just get what you want and that suits you.
