sorted bySame goes for Netac, ADATA, Lexar, Integral, and many others. All BiWin.
Biwin also supply HP with the SSD's for all their PC's/laptops, as well as Acer (and again, many others).
They're actually very good drives. Really only cheaper because they are produced on a huge scale with the NAND coming from YMTC and the controllers usually being Maxio (but you do get some with Innogrit or Phison controllers too like the Netac NV7000). (edited)
my mobo's m.2 slots are all populated so I tried a couple of PCIe m2 cards that would allow me to have more m.2 drives, but neither worked.
I do not need them to boot, but has anyone found a 2 port or 4 port pcie card that works
In the meantime, this is just the right size to hold my Jackie Chan Blu Ray rips
I had similar concerns to yourself, but after a bit of digging on the company and some reviews of the actual product (like this one), I've convinced myself enough that it's worth a punt, for my particular use case. Your mileage may vary.
At the end of the day - it's always a balancing act in deciding what's an acceptable amount of risk. Sometimes you get it right, at other times you learn your lessons and move on.
You're right, now days we have lots.of cloud based storage that lessens the potential damage of hard drive failures, unlike a decade or two ago when failure would have meant the graveyard. That said, I still believe that buying from the likes of Samsung, micron etc for a few quid extra is worth it. I'd wager that any long term test would show significantly higher failures over time with a Shanghai based company. Whether the data is out there, idk.
I'm not questioning it's performance. It's long term reliability that would be my concern. I'd like to see a youtuber getting a hundred of those drive and writing 500tb on each of them to see how they hold up. It wouldn't happen of course, but it would be interesting.

For some people they may have offer for voucher which gives 10% off (Total Price £60.29 so still more expensive)
History shows these at one stage was under £55
