This is also useable on Playstation 4? As it has Xbox branding.

Yes. It's just a hard drive. The xbox stuff id purely cosmetic.

Was about to say a good price for a external SSD but it’s a HDD (edited)

Expensive for a HDD at £15/TB, but maybe worth it if you want a power saving drive.

Just a word of warning about these. I bought one last week and sent it straight back. It's dog slow. Didn't even manage to finish copying one game before I gave up.

I'm looking at putting a 2TB in the PS4 and doing away with the external drive.

Word is it does away with the copying routine on downloads.

False economy here if something goes wrong. It will be pain in a backside if it arrives damaged or will become damaged later on.
Prime Day is in few days so I expect similar prices on hard drives here in UK with next day delivery and proper warranty. (edited)

Indeed. Remember you're not covered by the consumer rights act, which covers you for a 'reasonable' amount of time.

This seems like a really good price for 4TB. What's the catch?

At over £15 a tb for a mech drive it's about what it should be.

Fairly good deal none the less for a new drive though. (edited)

Is its performance worse if used for non gaming? I just want an external storage drive? thx
    aLV426's avatar
Nope - you are paying extra for the Xbox branding, the hard drive & interface are the same as the PC version

I bought the 5 TB model from UK Amazon for £88 in 2020. Been wanting to buy another one, but it's been consistently £110-150 ever since then... Looks like with this deal I could get it for £82. Thanks for posting.

Edit: Wait, this is pre-owned... (edited)

Can you back up the data on the external drive in any way?
