Relaxing breaks to Turkey are tried and tested at the Orka Lotus Beach, courtesy of its quiet coastal plot, four eateries and swish spa. Appearance-wise, this hotel takes the modern approach. Its contemporary decor blends timber furnishings with floor-to-ceiling glass walls, which make it easy to take in the scenic views of the coast. Speaking of the waterfront, you’ll find this place pulled up against a caramel-coloured beach, 650 metres of which is reserved just for guests. It’s dusted with a beach bar and some luxurious private cabanas, while the main pool’s a stone’s throw from the sand.

Pools
You’ve got a handful of pools to soak in, from a rectangular sea-view number to an indoor option and one with some waterslides. There’s also a splash park where youngsters can play with the water sprinklers and tipping bucket.
Down on the coast, you can flake out on the private beach, or splash out on a secluded cabana* that’s stilted above the water.

Food & Drink
You can help yourself to lots of Turkish and international dishes at the buffet restaurant. Alternatively, sit down for a meal in the three à la cartes* – they tick off Chinese, Italian and Ottoman cuisine. Elsewhere, soft and alcoholic drinks are on tap at all of the seven bars.

Sports & Activities
Wine tasting sessions, cooking classes and guided walks headline the to-do list*.
Sports-wise, table tennis, beach volleyball, aqua aerobics and yoga classes give you a reason to get off your sunbed. You can book a beginner’s scuba diving lesson*, too.

Health & Beauty Massages*
from around the world are on the menu in the spa. You can also kick back in its sauna and steam room. The gym’s stocked with rows of treadmills, bike machines, cross trainers and weight machines.

Facility Summary
The food scene’s the main attraction here. The food offering packs in a buffet restaurant and three à la cartes, while seven bars are on hand for drinks and lighter bites. The pool scene’s just as impressive, as well. You’ve got five to pick from, including one with waterslides. Little ones have a splash park to play in, too, along with a kids’ club and a playground. Adults, meanwhile, can chill out in the spa.

Rooms
Rooms here come with air-con, a balcony or terrace, Wi-Fi, a TV, tea and coffee facilities, a safe, a minibar and a hairdryer. Treat yourself to a sea view for a little extra, and for a bit more space, you can opt for a 2-bedroom family room.

I have always felt safer in Turkey than I have in most UK city centres.

I'm terrible at finding holidays.. Truly terrible. Because of this I've been watching like a hawk.. But everything's flying from London.

Just out of curiosity, are there no good bargains going from Manchester, or do all the holiday posters live down south?

    Heat added for you southerners.

I went here in August last year. It was packed (mainly Russians because the war was just a few months old and they are banned from everywhere else) but perfectly pleasant. We enjoyed it.

Currently finishing a week here. Knowing what I know now, this would be the sort of money I would pay for this hotel at anytime. Location is amazing, but the goodness kinda stops there. Can't even imagine the chaos it must be during peak summer, unless they really up their game during the busier times.
