Lovely island but this hotel is getting on a bit. Stay Riu Palace Boa Vista instead. Went earlier this month (Riu palace) and loved it to chill out. Went in sea every day apart from 2 of 5. Holiday was 10/10

Really rough! Went for Christmas. 1st day partner knocked off her feet.

Apologies, I didn’t realise there were different Riu resorts in Cape Verde. I’ll remove my comment as don’t want to be spreading unfair info for the wrong place. Thank you for letting me know.

Can only assume she is staying at the RIU Palace Santa Maria as I know that opened in 2021. The Touareg has been open since 2011.

This I can totally agree with...I stayed here a few years ago and had a bad case of food poisoning, quite a horrific experience. Upon closer inspection afterwards, the hygiene was extremely poor, i.e. food not covered with insects on it and there was a definite lack of cleaning. The food itself was also poor to begin with. The room claimed to have Wi-Fi but it was just out of reach of the room. Also had money taken from the room which was my fault for not using the safe, but still, I've never had this happen to me before. Wouldn't ever go back.

Is it possible to book this then amend the dates for say a few months or next year?

wolf359

I won’t be going back because the management are happy to lose the family type customers that have returned year after year in favour of the zombies sitting in the stairwells in clouds of smoke.

neilski1963

So, you stayed there 10 times, but because of the ...erm..."Drug Problem", you won` be going back?? Your drug of choice not available anymore??? (shock)

Sounds like you’re flexible, prices are high at the moment. I’d keep checking the prices and book when you’ve found a price you’re happy to pay. If you book it don’t ever check the prices again to avoid disappointment!

petter2

Sanford airport is fine, just the theme parks are ridiculously expensive. Europa Park for example is much closer, better, more affordable.

Mehr_I

I’m thinking anytime in October from Glasgow, at the moment they’re priced a lot higher than £199, but I’m wondering if last minute they’ll drop, like these May/June tickets

steveieboy1

Hard to tell, even more hard to tell if dates and departure airport aren't mentioned.

Mehr_I

Will there be flights this cheap for around October time?

Is the funana what used to be the garopa? At least One of them had a major upgrade/ refurb and became the palace. Been there 4 or 5 times to both sides of hotel complex loved it every time.at this price it’s well worth it imo

colletts_uk

It's crazy what they consider 5 stars. The room doesn't even look the standard of a Premier Inn. But for 500 quid pp all inclusive I guess you get what you pay for.

liloyster

I’m at this hotel right now. At this price it’s well worth it. It’s beach is amazing. I’m looking for my next holiday and wish I could just book this deal and stay here for longer!

Jeevester

Went in March. It was OK but wouldn't rush back. Far too windy as well for my liking but if you're in to kite surfing you'll be buzzing

hamodziatko

No it's really not. Nothing but sand, wind, salt and impoverished people. Went to the hotel before they renamed it and it was mediocre at best, however the defining point for me was outside the hotel. Seeing how some of the people have to live there was a real eye opener and explains why the crime rates are so high. Do not go if you like to explore out of the hotel and are not prepared to be on your guard or part of a larger group.

What’s the age limit for a child?

@funkistmonkey Ive looked on gov.uk site and also visitmorocco site and both still list a valid covid vaccination certificate AND a negative pcr test are required if arriving by plane . PCR test is not required If arriving by boat , very strange I know but been like that for a few weeks, so at the moment I will still need a pcr test for each of us, I'm sure this will change by august

FunkiestMonkey

FunkiestMonkey

Morocco has now lifted the need for a pcr test
