Well it’s still cheaper than a £120 flight, do you expect free flights to Dubai because the hotels cost £500+

jnigel26

Take a wrist band and paint it colour of guests you see leaving a reasonable hotel, walk in! Get chatting immediately to guests so they welcome you. Wash daily in the swimming pool! Great hol for 39 quid. ONLY JOKING!! XD Rough it on the beach for 7 days, or 14 if you don't mind smelling. Then accept the Guardia fine of 2,000 euros when you get caught. Lol. HEAT! Great deal.

Last time we used Gatwick long stay, we paid through the nose to park and then tech failed at barrier trapping us at 2am. Had to rouse a rude jobsworth from his slumber to let us out High prices and rude staff. Avoid

Thanks il use this then, flying from gatwick next month

On site takes 2-5 minutes from the car park with transfers every 10 minutes. Closest purple parking is copthorne (15 minute transfer and transfers every 20 minutes). On site is often just as cheap anyway if you book far enough in advance.

waterloo

Nothing like the same as onsite parking at all

satty1986

Purple parking is pretty much the same as airport parking. There all located near airports with free shuttle service to terminals

If 2 flying cant you just share on one hold luggage surely that's plenty .Do agree with hold luggage been extra as then its optional . Rather than part of my flight cost going on paying for 25kg per passenger hold luggage

If you can manage with a whole 5kg of hand luggage ... and you still have to pay the departure tax unless you aren't coming back.

Ooooh, this is new. They must've released this service recently. I might give this a try on our way back from summer hols. Anyone tried it out yet?

americanonpurpose

Believe it or not, they do. Currently £5.40 though and can be bought through MyGatwick as well. ;)

achung01

Wish they'd have something similar for getting out of Gatwick Airport - the security process coming back through passport control in Gatwick is painfully slow - we have 2 young kids so can't use our biometric passports via the e-gates, so end up queuing at least half hour to get through passport control. I'd definitely pay to go through there quickly

james42041

Heathrow I'm afraid!

snooky

Last few times I travelled through Gatwick, they seem to have got their act together and the whole security process was actually pretty quick. £1 is very cheap though!

Thanks. Yeah I was after knowing how fruit and veg only prices compare ? I heard some things such as beans were much more expensive (not sure what part they were in and is also irrelevant for me on gunned ect items.) Thanks for the reply though just hoping to find out as all inclusive is likely a waste for me no matter where I went unless they served bulk unlimited varied fruit. Thanks

Easy bus transfer London to Stansted, Luton & Gatwick from £1.99 and operated by National Express (on National Express website same transfer is £10)
tommytbone1

Fantastic! Cheers OP. £1.99 booked.

traveler

To be fair myself and my daughter used this service but operated by National Express in December.I was very hesitant as I'd nothing but bad reviews. But to their credit, on both legs, we were able to catch earlier buses as we were super early and hadno issues at all. You can catch the bus an hour either side of your scheduled time if there is room on the bus/coach. I just wanted to put another view out there as I hadn't read any positives :)

jumpinoffthbed

Had the same thing in Paris, never again!

b034

We booked easybus last year. They failed to mention to us (and the 20 other people waiting at Waterloo for a 5am bus) that it wasn't stopping there for 2 weeks (even though the ticket stated the stop). Taxi to the airport wasn't cheap. No contact possible except through post to request a refund. Awful.

belch

Some London drop-offs are served by Airport Bus Express instead. Booked trips directly with National Express for £8 return the other day for Liverpool St- Stansted at the end of April, roughly same times are £14 return with EasyBus. Used to use EasyBus but went off them when it was a pain in the arse trying to find out where the buses left from when they changed from using the Stansted coach park.

Only gone and book my ticket to go to Rome alone! May can’t come sooner :D

distinfran

Don't worry about it just do it .. much better to try than look back in later life at what could have been . I started travelling alone about four years ago. I do all sorts of things I would never have done previously and meet so many wonderful people. Longest holiday alone two and a half weeks! People are amazing when they see you are alone and often strike up conversation. Also shocked at how many other single women travelling. Try it you won't look back.

Kulaak

Well said, my last holidays have had me tied to my Mother (she has been good enough to offer the trip tho'). Whilst the break abroad has been nice never got to see much. although i did disapear from time to time (embarrassed)

rolstherat

Icelolkly are reputable. Decent deal if you have to do it on the cheap.

Robdk

If it's an evening flight out and a morning flight back, which it normally is with these deals, you're only getting one full day in Rome. It's a fantastic city and that isn't enough time to scratch the surface. In my opinion these city break deals always have a catch. You'd be much better off buying the flights and hotel separately for more flexibility.

If ever a deal was to be nominated for it’s subsequent wealth of poor comparisons and misinformation, this is it. ;) Whilst Newark into the City May be 30 Minutes and Stewart into the City 60 minutes longer, this time saving and much more can very easily be wiped out when one considers the average time taken to clear immigration upon arrival at Newark and Stewart. This is based on several family members having made a number of trips to New York for family gatherings, departing both London and Edinburgh.

Thanks - that gives me the info that I needed and which I suspected was the case. Not for me then.

nickhale756

I visited a couple of years ago (as a 68 year old heavy smoker) and to be honest found it pretty heavy going albeit very interesting. You have to walk down flights of wooden steps hundreds of feet and the stairways are about three to four feet wide so you can stop for a breather but feel awkward restricting the flow of hundreds of people passing by. Similarly you walk hundreds of yards in the fairly level underground tunnels and galleries and whilst there are some seats dotted around you feel obliged to keep up with your guide. The good news is there are lifts back up! Sadly I can't recommend it to an asthma sufferer but if you do go don't forget your inhaler!

Grahamdue

Catch the train from the main station rather than pay for a tour - costs about £1 each way. Entry is around £14 per person.

wledzki79

It is a lot of steps to go thru. But look at this, especially for people with asthma. https://health-resort.wieliczka-saltmine.com/

Awesomeness-in-your-mouth

totally recommend the hotel -except for the wait for the lift! Stayed there this summer - really great rooms but you don't come to New York for the rooms - howver £70 is bargain for this hotel - I paid £200 for four of us. Walking distance to the WTC, Liberty, Wall St, Walls St Bull, Battery Park, etc, and also the #1 line is really close by - less than 5 mins to take you up to, Time Square, Empire, Central Park and The Rock. You can have breakfast onsite but if on a budget or want to experience other places there are quite a few cafes around - also Dunkin Donut is right outside - they have a online survey I filled in each day to get a free donut from the receipts - saved me about $30 - did the surveys on the free internet use PCs in the lobby whilst waiting for family to get ready. Tip - buy each item seperate so you get multiple receipts and multiple online codes. If you have kids you will be pleased to get them donuts for breakfast otherwise they actually do decent tea and breakfast. I would recommend the 24hr cafe just around the corner - Cafe De Novo - really good breakfast baps and late night food - it is very deceptive, looks scruffy but noticed all the locals went there - a good sign and the food is relatively cheap compared to the rest. Also the big one for me - they treat the customers with respect compared to other places (avoid China Town and Charleys) Century 21 is also about ten minutes walk - big discount store for your bargains but shop in New Jersey for the better deals or Macys - Do not go to to the shopping outlet in New Jersey - I forgot its name but it is the same as Bicester Village but more expensive!
