Considering that the new 6 cores will be over £220 this is a bargin.

I think the 5600X3D is a very limited release and won't be widely available.

Nobody should be building a whole new top tier gaming system around the AM4 platform.

The 5800X3D is a great final opportunity to upgrade for many, comparisons to 13th gen intel are a bit moot here.

I'm a little tempted to upgrade my 3700X to this, but with limited opportunities to really stretch my system, I'll pass. It's still a great deal for anyone with an AM4 system looking to upgrade

Just recently started a build thinking I could get something new and half refurb for around £650 mark, it's going to be more like £850 🤦, didn't realise how expensive the am5 mobo are, saying that it should last at least 3 to 4 years.

I ended up buying for £200 the AMD 7600x AM5 socket, theres one on there now for £190, from research they look like solid mid range cpus. Then went for a XFX rx 6700x 12GB GPU managed to pick up for £200 as new, mobo is MSI PRO B650M WiFi, had that for £150 used.
X2 M2 drives, crucial 1tb pro £43 Amazon and a Samsung 980 pro 512gb £30 as new on eBay. A IONZ KZ V White case my first white build and a Corsair 750w modular gold white PSU for £50 as new.

Just bought the monitor used as new today at £120 MSI curved 30" OPTRIX 1440p 200hz.

Got about £60 left for 32gb of ddr5 ram.

Morale of the story is do your maths before you build I've goto say I honestly didn't think these components would be so expensive and to be honest that's with me really shopping around the used market to.

It will be a really good pc I'm hoping though

Do we see this dropping more for prime day?

This is what I'm hoping for. It's getting to the point where a B550 board, one of these and a decent amount of DDR4 is at a reasonable price to warrant upgrading my rarely used X58 system that's coming up to 15 years old.

Any significant discount on one of these direct from Amazon and it's going to be impossible to ignore I think.

If you only play online repetitive shooters at 1080p this is best CPU with B550 motherboard. For 1440p put most money into GPU rather then CPU. Any 8 core CPU will be sufficient.

Of course the price starts moving south after I bought one last week.

Getting more and more tempting, currently have 5600x with 3080ti.

Could the 5600x3d unlock to 8cores? Amd is not new to this.

Unlikely but also not worth it. This is only £250. Importing a 5600x3d
