Animal Crossing New Leaf 3DS for £22.49 in-store at Argos (with voucher attached)

Found 5th Jul 2013
I wanted to get Animal Crossing, and I read in the other lowest priced deal (£24 online) that there is a £5 off code at Argos in this months Official Nintendo Magazine. I downloaded this as an e-magazine for £2,99 to get the voucher. I'll attach this below.

This would make £24.99 cheapest in-store price, but the voucher knocks off £7.50 making it only £22.49. All the staff need to do is enter 'animal5' if you can't see, but the picture can be printed and taken in just tell them its from the magazine.

Hope this helps someone, thanks to allgonewrong for telling me the voucher at Argos

So just to understand this correctly. I have reserved one at my local store, so all I do is take the print out from the 'link you' provided and when at the till it will take £7.50 off? Or do I have to tell the staff they enter animal 5?

Sorry, poorly explained by me.

Reserve and collect
Go to pay as normal
Give them voucher (which instructs they enter promo code 'animal5' on their system)
Knocks off £7.50
Job done

I've tried it online and it doesn't work so must be in-store only.

photocopies are not permitted. So i guess it must come from the mag and not a print out. Someone might not read it properly but i doubt it will fool all (it worked for the OP because he had the original)

The magazine is available as both phsyical, and an e-magazine. I did it from the e-magazine. There is no way you could provide them the voucher without printing it off, hence it looking like a photocopy and I think you could explain that to anyone. Or easily say you wouldnt want to rip your magazine. It might be a bit hit and miss but I think you'd need to be very unlucky not to get it.

Ok, thanks for the extra info, this might be worth a shot.

No worries, even if it only helps one other person it's worth it they're consistantly going for over £20 on ebay used

good deal. Thanks OP

That's a good deal but i used Flubit and they came back yesterday with an online deal of £21.32 with postage included. That way you don't need to go in-store or anything.

Original Poster

I had a flubit offer of £22 but didn't want to wait a week or so.

Do you think I'd be able to just show them the voucher on my smartphone?

Was that with the gameseek link?

Probably, I didn't try just have them it printed out

Why do you say that? I paid £22 on Flubit as a pre-order and received it on release day. It also came with the pre-order bonus.

Original Poster

The quote it came back with was for 2-3 days handling then 3-5 days shippings. Said it would be week after next ETA. I assume it depends on supplier they choose ?

Not sure if this will work for everyone as our Argos didn't even stock the game when we went to buy it on release.

heat for high street deal on the animal crossing. i'm willing to buy stuff from argos when the price is right as there's one nearby.

Nice on OP - thanks. Heated more.

good game? I've never tried these before..

May have to give thus a try, been curious about this game I have never played another in the series but it seems very addictive

Thanks for the offer by far the cheapest I've seen it

Hmm same. I have read it is one of the best 3DS games, but I have no idea what it's about lol.

The trouble is the top bit of the voucher hasn't saved/scanned correctly - I think this would make them question it.
I get your point about having to print, but no doubt your original one (download) isn't blurred on the top 25% of it when printed.

did exactly as SgtSlay3r said and it worked, they did give the voucher a funny look initially but they shrugged it off

I can confirm that this works - I didn't need proof, just asked them to enter the animal5 code and they were happy to sell it for £22.49.

Many thanks OP

I'm sorry if the picture isn't perfect Goose but I just took a screenshot on my iPhone. I used exactly the same image but printed.

Pleased I could help the two users above.

Got it for £22.09 off Flubit. Thanks anyway OP

Can confirm this works with absolutely no problems. I did mention right away how it was an e-mag and the print off was the best I could do(to avoid an dodgy looks)

Worked for me too cheers OP!

If you pick this up feel free to join the hukd animal crossing community thread here - hotukdeals.com/mis…943

I bought a physical copy of the magazine for £4.50 for the game guide, although the girl on checkout didn't initially know how to discount it, it worked.
she said they don't get many vouchers like that so I'm pretty sure the printout would have worked, had my printer been working. she did want to keep the voucher for reference though.

Original Poster

Yeah when i went they had a list of their internal vouchers, and this wasn't on there thats why I just advised them to enter the animal5 code as there wasnt a barcode. Pleased its worked for you

Can this be printed in black and white?

The voucher says £5, so I don't understand where the £7.50 comes from?

Original Poster
