Hard to explain but it where you’re not moving the analog stick and the cursor is showing as it going to a specific direction constantly (mine goes down). Recalibrating has worked for me though (or at least until I accidentally reset the new calibration). Bear in mind that they were over two years old when it started happening, so I don’t think it’s that bad. And getting replacement Joy-Cons in bundles makes them around £10-£20 cheaper than RRP. If it happened within a year then it would have been fixed under warranty. And from experience, they’re pretty good with warranty fixes.

KeyboardKitten

Can you explain the joycon drifting situation so I know what I'm getting myself into (lol)

Mechtup

Ah I already have a switch :) I’ve had mine since the day of release. Joy-Cons drifting/broken but I’ve already got ones to replace them (from a super mario party bundle). Maybe they’ll release animal crossing joy cons and make it a bundle? I hope so!

KeyboardKitten

I wanted to get a 2DS XL ACNL edition after they announced but I had been playing New Leaf on my laptop so there was no point :( they look amazing though!

AnitaDick

Yeah I had the Animal Crossing New 3DS XL and it was beautiful <3 fingers crossed sis 🤞

At the risk of stating the obvious, if these aren’t three games you’d ordinarily be interested in, a deal this is not. Granted you could recoup some of the cost by selling unwanted games to CEX, but the standard (and fairly regular) deal for a stand-alone2DS XL is £100. Not that I’m voting cold! Just saying XD

dealsyeahh

Tri force is really good, same with HHD and brain training is enjoyable. My son loves brain training and his learning alot from it compare to textbooks! I have also bought over 10 training/learning games for him and he enjoyed them all

BigPaddy99

I've been looking for the 2ds XL for my two kids. This is by far the best deal I could find. The games are suitable for them. I might only enjoy Zelda if any but as said for kids they are good games. If anyone can find better deals let me know. I haven't pulled the trigger yet.

jona77

As others have stated 3 iffy games when Nintendo originally did this offer you could pick some far better games!

slacey1070

But HHD is great for its intended market. I.e. 10 year olds. DD had loads of fun with it. Triforce heroes is also good.

haha I've bought a 2ds xl for this exact reason! Sick of my son stuck on youtube all evening! It's about time he got into the wonders of nintendo! Plus I get to play Ocarina of Time for the first time.

Re: backladk against you tube kids...Basically schools are sending letters about serious dangerous messages coming thru YouTube kids. Parents like me are going old school now....

No1Funnymummy

I spent hours researching kids games for my newly resurrected 3ds and this got such great reviews from parents with kids living it I instantly bought it... working on which super Mario game??? Head wreacked now. I'll throw up best deal I can find tomorrow (lol) (lol) (lol)

Just done the same thing myself, thanks for the top tip! - proper UK version arriving tomorrow :-)

dbay85

I have contacted AO today and they have done me the same deal! (y) Excellent stuff.

Proddit

Great deal, been wanting this console ever since I first saw it. However I didn't want a European console and gave AO a call, they price matched and it was delivered next day. I'd recommend others doing the same if they don't want to risk a foreign console. Heat added either way.

jco83

SimplyGames should be straight about it. The item page should say 'Euro version. This is a European release which comes packaged with a European 2-pin plug. We will also include a Euro to UK plug adapter.'

its only 5% if you buy on the eshop with their ridiculous 60 pound price tag on games for everyone else its 1% which is nothing

kamikazilucas

how about they send me one like they used to do

westy90

Well put btw The reward system has been a lot better on switch since the Gold reward scheme. It will benefit digital buyers more, obviously with 5% money back. Its not as bad as people make out.

bobafettish

though i understand the centiment (i too miss the cool exclusive items you could get) this isn't a good comparison to get angry about. this is "bought" using platinum points. they're points you can get for free, using free apps, or logging into eshop etc and these can be earned WEEKLY. eg if you had zero platinum points right now, you could get 80 points in 5 minutes for free. the old points system, you only got points for buying nintendo made games/consoles. (about 250 points for a full rrp game) if this calander was offered by the old club nintendo it would have cost anywhere between 1000-2000 points (if it was really nice it'd be more) so to buy that calander you would of had to have bought betwen 4-8 brand new games (specifically games made by nintendo). considering most first party full rrp nintendo games hold there value that's at least £160-£320 to get this calander. the club nintendo equivelant is that they now give you money back (5% digital, physicasl is 1%) on EVERY SINGLE GAME you buy for the switch (and double ? for buying certain games on or before release day). wether digital or physical, regardless of who made the game. if they were charging you the gold you get for buying games to get this calander you'd have a point, but they're not, they're charging you the points you earn for free. xbox offer £5 xbox live gift cards for every £315 you spend on their store (digital only). playstation don't even have one. you say garbage loyalty scheme, but since it's launch, I earned enough through this reward scheme to get super smash bros ultimate for FREE. (was given £6 back just for buying smash too, after the double points offer) there'll be 100,000s of other users who've had similar benefits like i said i do miss club nintendo's unique rewards but fact is the majority of their users would much prefer money back on their games then getting random trinkets from nintendo (think how many users didn't even redeem their club nintendo points) they're not beingf cheap or cutting corners. they're looking at it objectively and saying what would most switch owners prefer, money back on games, or physical memorabillia (which costs 1000s of points) though you and i would say the more unique offerings, fact is to 90% of switch consumers the answer is obviously money back.
