Animal crossing amiibo festival £5 Poundland Newcastle
Found 2nd AugFound 2nd Aug
Seen these in Poundland Newcastle. Not sure if it’s nationwide XD

Worth it for games on switch like Mario Odyssey, where every amiibo you tap will go search for a power moon location, rather than having to pay toad. Sure, older amiibo won't give game specific items like costumes, but they still have some use in providing little power ups in certain games.

These are everywhere. Don't do it to yourself - the "game" is terrible

The game won't, but the amiibo will probably have some use on the Switch one day.

Yep. All amiibo work with wii U, 3Ds & Switch consoles.

This game is not animal crossing, but is garbage.

All amiibo at Argos now £10.99 ready for Smash Ultimate!

I’m not biased toward either of the systems. The fact of the matter is however, the 2DS XL is only manufactured with the better IPS screens. There’s plenty of information available on this if you do your research.

LOL. And the usual 2DS console(s) misinformation starts.... what on earth are you saying man? Your just making stuff up. There are many reasons why a 2DS unit sucks compared to a 3DS XL. I have posted them many time before and could well post them again but I can't be bothered as there is just 2DS bias and nonsense that follows as already evidenced here. Like your 2DS by all means, but don't just make nonsense up and pretend it is better than a 3DS XL.

The 2DS XL all have the better screens, while with the 3DS XL it’s hit or miss which of the 2 different manufacturers screens you get. The only other difference spec wise is the stereoscopic 3D.

Yes, got it a month ago for such price.

Super Mario Maker - Donkey Kong Country Returns - Animal Crossing New Leaf (Nintendo 3DS) £13.49 w/code @ 365games

They increased the price of things this morning. Shady practice. Code can’t be used on pre orders so waited for the release of a game today, they took it out of pre order and whacked the price up 10%

Thank you

Precisely when I'm thinking of playing Will keep that time change tip in mind also (y)

I used to play it on my breaks at work, would change the time settings on the 3DS to evening and rinse the island for valuable bugs to flog. Good times

The Swindon £shop have a 75% off price stunt as the lease is up and the shop closing , would've bought one of these if the queue wasn't ridiculously long (lol)

Hell, you could sell the booster pack it comes with for three times what you pay.

Never thought I'd see the day that a 1st party Nintendo LE game would be £1.25 in poundland. They got this one very wrong indeed.

Already posted in a way! Went in friday and its all tat thats left

Calling it a game is being generous. You literally press 1 button and the "game" plays itself. :D

They had stacks and stacks of these on rollers and loads on shelves

First time I’ve seen a Wii U game in Poundland. Here’s hoping they will have more Wii U merchandise soon.

Zippo Wii U wise in Liverpool.

Game were doing this very deal about a year ago too

Looks terrible but I don't think I'm the target audience. As many people have said, it's probably a decent purchase for those with young kids. A good deal, but maybe not a good game.

True, it may not be for everyone. But, in my house over Christmas this is quite a nice way of wasting a few hours with your young kids

Haha my bad “Used” games as “New”! Honestly just do a basic google search, there have been a fair few complaints about this. There is a thread on here about issues with them too.

Well that's counter-intuitive! (lol)

Anybody bought it from them yet? If you ordered new, did it come sealed? Research has taught me to be careful of Grainger Games selling ‘New’ games as used.

Would this have much longevity if played purely single player? I don’t have 3DS friends haha

Why would they, the game still sells at full price 5 years after it launched

I'm a huge Animal Crossing fan, but I can't help but notice that KK Slider doesn't quite look right.

Nah, don't do that. I'm voting hot. They'd be good for party bags if your child has geeky mates

Good point! I didn't even notice that. I may have to vote cold on my own deal now.

Yeah, I didn't know about them either, I like them. Overkill on this though, there are only 8 characters so you get 3 of each one. Good if you know 2 other people who would like them though.

Good price for the amiibo. Glad I missed this at a tenner a while ago.

The Amiibo cards are not cheap at all when you consider there is quite a lot of them. We have approx. 30-40 individual cards and there is no doubt many more don't have. And then you have to factor in you are going to get duplicate cards when you buy them. I don't think the cards even gloss over the Festival Wii U game or add anything myself. The cards are best used IMO with Happy Home Designer on 3DS. Now that is a good game for kids. The kids become designers in the Animal Crossing world and they take on projects, and the cards give them new projects to design.

@Evilmonkey Well, the main game itself has zero challenge, you just go around the board with a few animations and the one who collects most happy points wins. It's really just a game of chance mixed with a cartoon. The more interesting game is the island mini-game where you have to escape an island working cooperatively. It is still very simplistic, but it does require a bit of discussion about strategies etc. However I think it requires the amiibo cards, not just the figures that come with the box. The cards are not very expensive (less than a fiver for 3 cards I think) and I have ended up buying a few packs. They are somewhat collectable and each character has slightly different abilities so it's fun to mix and match (and part of the pre-game discussion with my daughters). That game might interest a 10 year old, but you'll probably only play it for a year.

Great price for the amiibo, but the game is absolutely horrendous, it's a joke

I am going to offer a differing opinion on what age group might likes it. My kid and his friend were ages 6-7, they played the game once and just found it annoying and stupid. My kid tried it again one further time, almost like just to make sure it is a crap game, and it was again a case of not wanting to play it. There is so little to it and it is dreadfully basic and poor even for a young kid. Leaf and Happy Home are both fantastic Animal Crossing games for kids. You would therefore think, this game even if not to those standards must be decent, but no it does not even get anywhere near close to being "decent". It must have been quickly produced, it is like they barely got started and finished the game off very early. Somewhere, there is someone digging a hole beside the ET hole for the remaining stock.
