About this item
  • With 3440 x 1440 resolution, Wide Quad HD (WQHD) offers superior picture quality and crisp imagery that reveals every detail. The widescreen 21:9 aspect ratio is perfect for watching movies in an expansive format or immersing yourself in the latest game, plus it offers more space when it’s time to work. True 8-bit color provides a broad color palette for vibrant, natural-looking images.
  • VA Panels (Vertical Alignment) display deeper blacks and a high contrast for extra vivid and bright images.
  • Equip yourself with twice the frame rate of other monitors and say goodbye to image stuttering and blurry motion. With a 144Hz refresh rate every frame is rendered sharply and in smooth succession, so you can line up your shots accurately and appreciate high speed races in all their glory.
  • MPRT is an acronym for moving picture response time. MPRT technology disables and enables your monitor backlight during picture changes. Through the reduced time a frame is shown on the monitor, “ghosting” and “blurring” effects are reduced, resulting in a smoother, more “fluid” feeling gaming experience.

I've got a HP X34 and it took about 2-3 days to adjust from a curved 32" MSI to a Ultrawide flat 34".

Generally happy with the change and performance.

Yeah it's a common issue whereby the brain is still used to a curved panel and therefore when looking at a straight panel the screen appears to curve inwards towards you at the middle of the screen. I thought my screen was broken at first but I Googled it and it is a very common phenomena. It took me about a week to adjust.

    After first doing some research..

IMHO, with pros vs cons, reviews and cost etc weighed, measured and compared...

OK DEAL, AT LEAST A REASONABLE BUY, IF NOT A VERY GOOD ONE... SO CERTAINLY WORTHY OF SOME HEAT 🔥

    MY PERSONAL TOP LIKES?

    - Brand
    - 3yr warranty
    - Specs, aesthetics and size
    - Sold by Amazon

    WOULD I BUY?

Maybe, but only if I couldn't find better for that price or it a kittle cheaper - and I am sure I could so unlikely even at this good price reduction. BUT MANY will I know! (edited)

For the price, I can't think of any cons.

Would this be good for productivity rather than gaming?

    Yes of course.

At this Ultra wide 34 inch format it would be advantageous to have a curved screen imho, each to their own obviously. Good deal for what it is, though! Heat added!

Agreed, my previous deal (the current monitor I am typing this into) was much better IMO, but also £100 more expensive (good price even then)

This monitor supports PbP (Picture by Picture) but doesn't appear to support PiP (Picture in Picture). I find PbP to be the more useful of the two. So this means you can essentially split the screen in to two inputs. So I PC and Game console displayed side by side or PC and Firestick or two consoles whatever you can put in the inputs effectively.

I had a BenQ with PbP and PiP and it was such an over-engineered cumbersome faff about that I didn't bother with the feature. The Samsung 34" Ultrawide I had now makes it super easy to get two inputs displayed side by side.

I bought the 32" 1440p Dell but find it too large for productivity work. Would this potentially be better for work since it's not as tall and I can more easily put two windows side by side? How are the colours and viewing angles compared to that Dell with IPS 95% P3?

I have used 34" Curved and 34" Flat panel Ultrawide. My curved broke in a house move so I bought a cheap flat replacement. For productivity these are excellent. I wouldn't go larger than 34" if the panel is flat but it is fine I am able to work with it.

To directly answer your question you can put two full width screens side by side. However sometimes I will split the screen in to three so it could be three vertical with varying fractional widths. Or it could be two windows side and side and the right hand side for example split horizontally at full width.

If the monitor supports PbP such as the one in this deal then you can split the screen to two different inputs so from two different PCs for example or PC + Console. Doesn't even have to be a PC it could be a console + firestick.

    TLDR;

34" Flat panel Ultrawide is maximum width I would use for productivity
Best suited for productivity because the extra width allows for correct window ration to display two side by side full width applications.
Picture by Picture (PbP) can be useful if you want two different inputs such as PC + Macbook displayed at the same time.

Colour reproduction is vital if your productivity work requires accurate colour representation. This monitor is primarily a gaming monitor and therefore its DCI-P3 is 93%.

"If video production and film editing is your main gig, it is important to look for a monitor that supports at least 95% DCI-P3 colour space"

Got this not sure if I'm overly happy as using it I notice slight darkening on the right hand side of the screen. Not sure if it's just viewing angle or backlight issue. Just not uniform
