    Very good deal

Apple increased prices for 16 M2 pro So 16 M3 pro can be more expensive or same price when will be released
    £2,699.00 M2 Pro 20 % faster compare to M1 pro (10 Core)

So this one £1799.98 So £900 cheaper ( I know that M2 pro have 12 core etc.... + HDMi 2.1 etc ) but these a minor improvements but price £900 more compare to this deal

I have M1 Max 1 TB I know I overbuy for my need and i pay much more after using for 2 months i will be happy go to M1 Pro and save some cash , because not many software use 32 Core GPU or use at all so I pay premium but performance is not used

Do not look youtubers bloggers comparing test etc They all playing on feeling "best of the best " and numbers and they get cash for stupid tests where nobody using in real life

They not talking about real word usage M1 Pro is more than we need and 16 core GPU is more that need I only would like that M1 Pro have 32 GB of ram instead of 16GB and bigger SSD

But in general i think i will trade 32 GB ram to 16 GB with bigger SSD like 1 TB etc

as now I have 1TB SSD and i can feel this before with 512 GB plugging external SSD now can work without this

32 GB ram vs 16 GB ram In very rear case I need so much ram I onlu using this 32 Gb when I use parallels so I split then ram to 16 GB and 16 GB

But because windows is now ARM version so they work little different and ram usage is different 8GB i think is ok for what windows ARM can do as they can not do proper gaming anyway because of the apple silicon GPU drivers and 86 conversion layers . You only need lot of ram if using for AA title games or 3D project but as mention virtual windows is very limited in this case so 8GB more that you need

I got M1 Max and trying to explain do not do my mistake M1 Pro is more then we need and if you make money from some app where need this M1 max then yes but if not making cash then money is waisted (edited)

I’ve got the M1 Pro 1TB with 16 GB of ram. When using a few docker containers extensively ram becomes a bottleneck. It’s not terrible but stops making the laptop feel as quick as usual to the point there’s even animation stutters. So I’d love to have more ram personally

Not sure if it’s the same model but it’s £1613.98 in Costco Derby

Edit - not the same (edited)

Not bad, but Apple is expected to announce a 15" MB Air next month that might better suit some potential buyers of this.

I’m wondering whether the price would be not far off this price though. I won’t be surprised is the base spec model comes with 8GB ram and 256GB of storage, and a 60hz display. Apple continue to make clear a delta between their pro devices and their “base” devices. Mind you the air will be lighter, but for me personally as an owner of the 16 inch base M1 Pro MacBook Pro, the benefits easily more than offset the weight advantages. Each to their own mind you!

Bought this for £2155 and got partially refunded when the price fell to £2046, from John Lewis. Easily the best laptop I’ve owned, coming from 2020/2021 Razer blades.

Great laptop. I luckily grabbed a brand new one from Ebay the other day for £1700 - but with 32gb RAM. It's amazing

There’s so much power in these I can’t see why most of us would need any more; my 2018 MacBook Pro has seen better days, but I don’t use it enough to warrant this.

Maybe a new MBA would be the way forward eventually…
    daaave2's avatar
    daaave2
Yes. Most people simply don’t need the power. They’re wasting their money.

What annoys me most is - Apple have made the iPhone/chips so good that they could easily run macOS off them, with a dock/monitor/keyboard/trackpad etc.

Would be fine for the vast majority of users and save a load of duplication/e-waste etc. (edited)

I thought Apple had started charging sensible prices for these machines since they moved to ARM? This is just ridiculous for the spec.

Got one of these - excellent deal, and best laptop ever owner. As has been mentioned, little need for anything more powerful than this for most. But 16 inch is quite heavy and doesn't travel much. (M1 MB air for on the go)

I'd say quite the opposite, I got mine for £1800 on sale over a year ago when it was the newest gen macbook. I'd say this is quite bad for this macbook in 2023

What's the difference between this and the MacBook Air M2? Which is like half the price.

This is obviously more powerful, but depends what you are using it for. I have the 14” version and an M2 air. The Air is much more sleek, it’s my personal machine and prefer the form of it.

Got the 14" M1 Macbook Pro and it's insanely good. Tried so many windows laptops (have a PC) and they're just dreadful, everything from XPS to HPs ... always something just not quite right with them.
    TerryT's avatar

It is a winner, my preference is the 14” although I would buy 16” if a bargain on the 1TB variant appeared. Currently using an m1 air and keen to upgrade when the price is right.

I have a very similar experience to you, my preference for heavy lifting has typically been windows, in fact I would kill for windows UI but with all the pros of a MacBook (bootcamp etc are not what I mean).

The best windows laptops like Dell XPS are a league away in terms of battery life, trackpad, and of equal gripe; their behaviour when you close/open the lid… will it be a black screen? Will it need to be hard reset? Has your battery been drained by a vampire? Lift the lid and find out!

In addition of course, the frequency of windows updates are not feasible for a laptop, I don’t want to reset it more than once a month, barring the most critical vulnerability updates only.

Do you ever think you’d be better off with the 16”? Or have times where you are glad of the 14”? I will use every bit of power I have but portability is also a large factor and there is a sweet spot.

Has anyone that ordered one of these had their confirmation email or been able to sign in online to see the order?
Put my order in on Saturday & still nothing. They've taken the money though & i have the reference numbers from the Order Summary.

Same happened to me, ordered the membership for 15 pounds + the laptop and got the order summary screen, everything paid and money taken from account, but i cannot log in into the account i just created, neither received any confirmation email. Im guessing there is a manual approval step in the process and tomorrow tuesday will be solved 🤞
