Voted hot, finally a decent specs 17-inch laptop at an almost reasonable price. (edited)

It'll be average build quality but it gets the core specs and display right. 17" systems are a rare thing right now, so it's good to see people get choice and don't have to compromise on everything else.

    Is the ram upgradable?

50605780-3Gf2b.jpgCan I just ask from anyone in the know, would this laptop be better than my current Desktop PC, specs in the photo. It's years old, but as long as it plays Football Manager touch then I'm happy haha.

Yes, it will be incomparably faster. That A4-3300 scores under 1000 in Passmark, Passmark isn't proof of everything but under 1000 is truly awful . You are also losing 4GB of your 8GB RAM to video memory presumably. The i3 here scores nearly 15x higher and uses about a third the full-load power.

This will be ideal for Football Manager and you can close the lid and put it away when done.

Nice to see a 17" laptop that isn't either absolute garbage or very high spec with a silly price tag.

12th Gen i3 is the first i3 in laptops worth getting really - it’s a 10-core (2P+8E) chip and pretty potent vs the old dual-cores. Display is 17” IPS which is ideal if that’s what you want.

It’ll be a fairly basic system but ticks all the important boxes and comes in at a good price too. (edited)

The CPU will run hot, though. See my comment above.

    Is it good

The i3 1220p in this is about 15% faster than an i7 1165g7 but the igpu is slighttly slower in this.

The i3 in this is really quite impressive - it's the first time the i3 looks like a decent buy in a laptop and not the economy choice. The GPU is slower, yes, but neither is really capable of much anyway.
