There are lots of exciting things to discover when you use Asda Rewards. We have two types of offers. We call them Star Products and Missions. Star Products are specific items on which you willearn an amount into your Cashpot every time you buy them. Missions are exciting offers available in the app that you can complete as you shop.

Asda Rewards is also available when shopping online on groceries.asda.com. You will know if you are able to use this by seeing Asda Rewards when you are shopping on Grocery online.
If you have any questions, please call our Customer Service team - select option 1 and we'll do our best to help.

Can I get a Card Version?
There is no physical Asda Rewards card. When you register to use the app, you’ll get a Digital Card. This contains a barcode that you simply scan when you check out. You must scan this Digital card to obtain rewards and we cannot backdate any Rewards on transactions where a scan has not been placed/forgotten.

Scan your app to earn
Good things come to those who scan. Unlock everything that Asda Rewards has to offer by scanning your in-app card every time you shop. You’ll never miss out on Mission or Star Product earnings – building that all-important Cashpot.

This is the most rewarding loyalty scheme of the supermarkets. We joined at the beginning of November and we already have over £37 in the cashpot.

For me (a single person household who rarely buys brand name products), it's the least rewarding as I'm unable to reach most of the targets. Since joining in August, I've earnt a total of 95p. There's a minimum redemption of £1, so I've received no benefit whatsoever.

Can you use it online or has to be in store?

We could just create a 2nd account get the fiver and build it up to a tenner cash in then revert back to original account

Forgot to say u can transfer the app cash 2 a gift card in-store which lasts 2 uears (edited)

Bacon last week £1.65 this week bacon star product £1.95. Nescafe 300g star product price £7.10 now its not a star product £6.00. You don't save anything cos they inflate the price and call the difference a reward!!
  4. Lucyeff's avatar
We started off well with this but hardly get any rewards now and we shop the same. Just a warning, Asda bombard you with SPEND MORE URGENTLY OR YOU'LL LOSE THE CHANCE OF A BONUS messages which is at the very least really annoying, but not that ethical either.

Asda are sometimes more expensive than the rest these days, Ocado beat them on price at times. Crazy times.

The single most confusing loyalty scheme there is. Been using it for about 6 months and I still have no idea what's going on
    Solac's avatar
If it has a star on the label, you save 10% generally.
  6. crippsy99's avatar
What they dont tell you and people dont realise, is almost everything on rewards, has gone up in price by the same amount or more, so you don't really 'make' anything from it..
Coke zero was on 'offer' the other week £3 back on the rewards app.. only diet code was £9.50 (and zero was up until that point), but then the zero suddenly cost £12.50.. oh.. so £3 more.. the amount of people buying it because they thought they were getting a good offer, when in reality they were just paying the same price in the end, but with some of it locked into using in Asda..
  7. Bazza.20's avatar
Is the reward added instantly? As in you make a purchase, reward is added and then you can spend it in the same trip on a second transaction?
    Jaydizzle84's avatar
I just went this morning. Looks to be the case, though I didn't try the voucher yet.
I claimed it and it says it expires 8th May.

Looks like an easy fiver to be honest.

Is this Asda George? Or is that a different thing, can never work that out

It's Asda groceries and George, you just have to scan the card or have it connected to your online account
  9. ozodimal's avatar
It says that ASDA gift-cards are excluded. Is that when buying them, spending with them, or both? Thanks
    Bolkyloren's avatar
    Buying them

    Inthecorner92's avatar
Theres still loads of 2p Xmas items dotted about... I've found atleast one of these in every asda I've been in - 2p49511545-de4SB.jpg
  11. johnsmith1997's avatar
Can the £5 codes be stacked together in same purchase??
    Munkee's avatar
Tried and didn’t accept the second but could have been doing it wrong ,

they are also linked to the rewards account as got a £1 back for my one without scanning my rewards account first
  12. rodman's avatar
Asda is the pointless reward ever created.
    Solac's avatar
Not really, in 2 months I have about £30.

If you do your main shop there it adds up quickly.

Christmas they had £10 off £50, and an extra £5 cashback on Buy 6 saye 25% on wine.

Plus works with Blue Light as well if you know anyone. (edited)

Prices at Asda have gone bonkers since they introduced this bloody app. Bread for £1.60 which can be had at Tesco and Sainsburys for £1.40. The supermarket can swivel since they’ve been bought out.
  14. stevieshoes's avatar
Just signed up and looked over the star products. Is flora only 450g now? Yes I’d hope to get 10% back since you’ve reduced the size by 10%!!!!!
    finknottle's avatar
Blame the manufacturer, not Asda. If you do consider the bonus as recompense for shrinkflation, then Asda are actually taking a hit to support Flora's profit margins. Worth remembering too that the war in Ukraine has caused a spike in sunflower and other vegetable oil prices, which is what Flora is made of. Plenty of other branded and non-branded margarines available for less, and Asda also have the 1 kilo tubs for £3.50 which works out far cheaper.
  15. timmyboy147's avatar
Could you make 20 different email accounts for £100 free Asda?
    jd121's avatar
Nah requires phone number. Already has one so just created another one using my other number. Have 3 more accounts to make using various family member sims lol
  16. Kamz13's avatar
This app never ever worked when I was in the store I ended up deleting it. The scannable card that Tesco and Morrisons use are much more convenient to use.
    stokie's avatar
Open the app before you enter the store, then you can scan the barcode
  17. sarkymark1's avatar
Still does not work with BLC card as mentioned in HUKD post from few months back. App support is terrible too. And the other thing is - waiting 10 minutes to get your shopping scanned by the cashiers might be as annoying for you as it is for me. Not cheap anymore either....
    Cameron1983's avatar
It does work with the BLC as I have both. You just scan you app barcode then ask them to scan their token after showing your BLC. You can use self-scan as you go around doing your shopping - no need to wait for a cashier. It's saved me nearly £60 with the app since about October/November. The only slightly irritating thing is that it seems to intermittently log you out so you're occasionally left standing at the scanner trying to log in.
  18. Grazz0r's avatar
This is by far the worst rewards app of any of the supermarkets. I uninstalled mine after a month as I'd only earned a few pence- and it kept logging me off at the checkout. I now shop elsewhere! (edited)
    deanwall's avatar
You can add the barcode to your Apple Wallet meaning no worries about being logged out.
  19. deleted2145572's avatar
Hmm what permissions does app require?
    samsmith748499440's avatar
Lol download it have a look
  20. TylerS63's avatar
Did this three times yesterday. £15.15 worth of groceries for 15p. Cheers
    J_Hen's avatar
Buy the smallest loose potato you could find.. mine cost 3p
  21. eastavos's avatar
One thought I've always had. What if you get the app, screenshot your barcode, email the screenshot to yourself. Print the screenshot out from your computer, delete the app from your phone and take the printout to scan in-store at a self checkout till. What's to stop you doing that if you don't want to keep the app on your phone?
    crippsy99's avatar
You can do that.. you won't be able to spend anything you've earnt though

how quick does the £5 appear if im waiting at self serve? tia
    Ferris's avatar
    Instantly.
  24. Bazza.20's avatar
Once the £5 has been added to the cash pot, does it have an expiring? Or will it remain there as a balance until ready to use
    MAJESTIC's avatar
You get 6 months to convert your cash-pot into vouchers and 3 months to use the voucher.

It seems to give you less back as time goes on, as the targets get higher and I never quiet reach them.
Also everytime I use the smart shop I forget to scan my phone at checkout! (edited)
    Solac's avatar
The forgetting to scan is annoying, you can't add it on after like Tescos if you forget.

I have done it once or twice and realise after I pay.
  27. finknottle's avatar
Thanks OP, Sod’s law that I signed up the other week but just did so with a different email address and can see the bonus.
    stuartw's avatar
Been using it for months now, will try the old +1 gmail to see if I can get it
  28. Babs_Mitchell02's avatar
I converted it to a voucher, and ended up.in hospital and lost it, story of my life, good deal though
    finknottle's avatar
If you were to call customer services and explain the circumstances, I’m sure they’d help you out! Hope you’re making a swift and full recovery.
  29. SarahTonin's avatar
That's a bit rubbish for people who downloaded the app. and started using it months ago.
    Brabus_Duddy's avatar
Yeah I was coming to type the same!
  30. Jaydizzle84's avatar
So this £5.. you go in, you buy something, scan app. Then on your next purchase is it effectively a £5 gift card, or is it locked in until you complete a load of other BS?

Tesco Clubcard gives you money off immediately + you have a physical card so good for those who don’t have smartphones. Asda Rewards means you end up having to pay so much more for things now.
    Jaydizzle84's avatar
Reward schemes go through cycles. It used to be Tesco clubcard all the way. Went to Lidl until they stopped the £10 after £200 spend, now I'm mostly nectar, due to having sains credit card and amex as well. (Avoid to nectar points)
Now they're reducing the value there too.
I'm only exploiting this £5 offering (twice) and then I'll delete the app and Asda can kiss my plums goodbye.
