About this deal

Sometimes one display's just not enough – that's why the Asus Zenbook Duo packs a secondary touchscreen into an amazingly portable laptop. The ScreenPad Plus doesn't just expand the main screen. It adds controls and shortcuts to make your favourite apps easier and quicker to use. You can have colour sliders, volume knobs or brush controls right at your fingertips. Both displays are beautifully sharp, bright and PANTONEcolour accurate, so you can trust them with your creative projects. The Intel® Evo™ platform makes all the premium technologies under the hood work together perfectly to give you a snappy and responsive system.

Now £570 on Amazon Warehouse for good condition (some small scratches) with the 20% off warehouse promo going on. Decent saving.

    2 year old processor
and they have made some big upgrades since the with a big jump in core count
probably equivalent to 12th gen i3. 13th gen is coming out this month or next
and it's screen is only FHD as opposed to 2.8K as they have on most of their Zenbook 14X line
imho not super hot. OK but I still wouldn't pay 800 for it
I got my 14X Zenbook OLED 2.8K with the same internal specs (no second OLED screen on the keyboard) for 330 in November from amazon. That was a deal (edited)

In my experience anything over Full HD on a 14" screen is pointless - you need a larger screen to get the full benefit of 4K.
And an 11th gen processor will cope with pretty much anything you can throw at it, especially with the 16GB RAM.
We live in a world where most of us wouldn't even tax a 6th gen Intel processor - but they have to sell us something new every year (but we don't need to fall for it)

Huh... Anyone used this with Photoshop?
Wondering fi the doc works intuitively on that second screen?

Only if this came with a dedicated Graphics card for under £1K, it's such a cool laptop

It's not really a gamers laptop - they make the UX582 for gamers (which has a dedicated 3070 GPU). That said, no reason you couldn't buy this now and get a dedicated GPU (and run it off the thunderbolt 4 port) when you want a real GPU! (edited)

I think I seen the screen on this in Currys and it looked poor

This looks so cool. I do love it when companies are experimental. I remember when phones were being creative like this and now every phone is just a rectangle screen.

ASUS is pretty good - they introduced the first Duo a few years ago (September 2020) and they have refined it every year - I had the first model and it was brilliant - but the later models like this one are definitely better!

I have one of these. That 2nd screen is very useful
I use it for Discord and chats.

How do you find using it without the wrist rest area? I'm tempted but do a lot of work not at a desk so am unsure if I can make it work

Its cool and great value, but looks pretty awkward and uncomfortable to type on

It does take a little time to get used to it but I wouldn't let you put you off.  This is a real step forward in usability if you have a use case for it. (edited)

What a sexy piece of kit

Too bad the novelty will wear off within a day when I realise the second screen is a pain to use so just use it as a post it note sticky area rather than a screen.

Using windows from 95’ Windows still seems like a start up project. Things work, things don’t work, things used to work now don’t work, they break basic features. And for godsake they change everything they shouldn’t change like that start menu etc but wtf is the save button on Ms products still a floppy disk when the floppy disk hasn’t existed for years before at least the last 2-3 operating system releases.

Sorry for rant. Windows gives me pain in my chest yet I still use it (edited)

Interesting perspective but I have been using these devices since they first came on the market a couple of years ago (UX481->UX482->UX582). The second screen has become so important to me I know that I would really miss it if I had to go back to using a standard laptop. Horses for courses but I sincerely hope that your comment doesn't stop anyone from trying this device - that would be a real shame.

I love the idea of this laptop but I can’t use a touchpad with my right hand.

this is amazing. 48 month with 0 percent Apr for about 17 quid. wouldn't consider it a better deal even if it was £100 cheaper
