    100% is a German keyboard

The ASIN relates to EAN number 0196800906021 - search this and you'll get all German results.

    Also: psref.lenovo.com/Det…5GE

However if you don't need to look at the keyboard then QWERTZ layout is fine, just set your laptop up as a UK one and ignore what is written on the keys. (edited)

As someone who has struggled and continues to struggle with a Belgian AZERTY layout, I would caution anyone who thinks it's not a big deal. I still find myself having difficulty finding the more obscure characters that you nonetheless need to use quite often.

Help please - can anyone tell whether this is better than Acer Swift 3 that was at Argos recently ? (Albeit stock is a bit hit and miss currently at Argos) - it was for £499.

Quite a difficult choice. Both are good. The form factor is relatively comparable and good. The CPU on this one is better, especially if you do gaming, but this is not a proper gaming laptop. The Swift 3 CPU is good anyway. In theory, this one has a better battery. In practice, this is H CPU while Swift is U CPU. This means the Lenovo will drain the battery quicker. The screen is better on this one, but the Swift screen is also decent.
I'm glad I don't need a laptop, as these 2 laptops tick most of my boxes. But as I'm not into gaming, and my needs are average, I think I'm leaning towards the brand new Swift. Saying this, my Zenbook came from Amazon Warehouse, and it was almost brand new, with only about 4 hours usage. Unrelated to the 2 models, as a brand, I think I like Acer more than Lenovo. (edited)

the like new are £500, it's the very good that are £470. Or am I missing something?

    Definitely not QWERTY.

Nor a UK plug either, and during setup a German lady starts yelling something at me.

Very good spec for the price, particularly the screen. These get a bit toasty under load though, at least my 5600U model does.
    skoomaki's avatar
Comparing different generations with different architecture.. How can you say it gets toasty?

I can't believe they didn't put a backlit keyboard in this one. Make sure to get backlit when you change the keyboard to english (though the picture shows english layout.

According to the feedback, the CPU runs very hot, so be prepared for some noise.

How easy is it to swap out a keyboard? Is that possible for a reasonable amateur to have a go at? Am thinking to order one if the spec is good but don't know how awkward it will be to cope with a German layout.

It shows "slightly" different specs for me in terms of screen and ram...

Think that stuff is a mistake since it doesn't match the model no.
  8. richardoc's avatar
    Pity it's soldered ram only
  9. Nicolas's avatar
i personally think the i5-13th gen with 16 ram brand new from lenovo at under 400 is a better deal, and before yo ask for a link, you can do a simple search on here and u will find it.

Hmm yeah, that resolution is lower. I guess with Amazon it can be returned simply.

The only return option I was offered recently for a warehouse laptop was self funded return postage. Now 2 weeks later I am still waiting for the refund and reimbursement of the postage cost.

Did anybody receive theirs? Mine arrived yesterday but I've not opened it to confirm the spec yet. Any thoughts lads? Box says 2.8k screen though so all seems well. (edited)
