Birrificio Angelo Poretti Lager Beer 12 x 330ml Bottles £7.75 Instore @ Sainsburys Derby City Center reduced from £15.50

The offer was on the garden, media and stationary aisle.

  • Premium lager
  • Italian Hopmasters
  • Brewed with Four Hops
  • Alcohol by volume: 4.8%

Today, our beer is brewed based on the traditional Italian recipe, which delivers a full-flavoured lager with an assertive hoppy bitterness, a flavour profile iconic to the Italian 'aperitivo' culture where bitter drinks are used to ignite the appetite and begin a dining experience.

In 1877, our founder Angelo Poretti established the Birrificio Angelo Poretti brewery in the foothills of the Campo dei Fiori mountain range in Valganna, Northern Italy.

But they send every bottle to Italy and then it comes back

Have to say I found it pretty bland the one time I tried it.

Just tried this and barely any flavour, just like Madri. Wouldn’t buy again.

I'll be the Beer Bore and say that this was WAAAAAAYYYYY better when it was imported. Because it was.

After 1 bottle of the UK brewed stuff, not touched it again.

    With you there.
Singha springs to mind. It was wonderful when it was 6% and brewed at the Boon Rawd brewery in Thailand. Now it's the same as many lagers, branded as from Europe, Asia or wherever!

Nice deal but I'm unsure of this beer name

I've had a few on tap in a pub locally and it's fine but what's next Foretti? Boretti? Toretti?

Basically there's enough lagers and I'd challenge anyone to blind test around 5/6 pints (edited)

A bit like peroni to me, light and nice on a sunny evening, but not much taste

I don't think people like lager to have much taste. Hop House 13 was one of the few that had any taste and they've stopped selling it.

Luckily we still have Pilsner Urquell and many, many pale ales which are basically lagers with a bit more flavour.

Same old story. When it come out it was great brewed in Italy. Now it's the UK dribble

Fully agree with u mate. These UK brewed under license beers are vial compared to their counterparts. Doesn't matter where it is Spain, Czech Republic, Belgium...great there and awful here.

I don’t think it’s bad. Particularly at this price.
