The Quiet comfort 45's come with a hard case and the Quiet comfort SEs, are QC45s, which come with a soft case, rather than a hard case.

This is only difference I can find between the two models
    gg1pl's avatar
Then the £550 Airpod Max comes with the most useless 'case', might as well wrap it in newspaper

Thank you very much for sharing. Bluewater John Lewis have a couple of grade A refirbs too for 142! I got one and it’s all still inside the wrappers inside the box

    I had a £25 off a £190 spend, but it doesn't work with these

Certain products are exempt from the offer

Thanks for first post. Tempted with solid ANC and wired option but think I'd stretch a little for better sound

Tried xm4. Found them really uncomfortable. Been using Bose QC now and can wear all day in office. They are so comfortable and NC is great. Sound quality is superb

Really need to take the '45' out of the title as it is a bit misleading.
Even on Bose own website they officially call them Bose QuietComfort® SE headphones.
    Solidcancer07's avatar
To be fair to OP, John Lewis themselves mention QC45 in their title so it was based on that (edited)

Its been reported by people the ANC on airpod pros is getting worse following updates, be interested to know if people with them are noticing this. Plus these are headphones rather than earphones. Id compare these to the £500+ Airpod max.

Anyone know if this is real leather or not?
    Dealster1's avatar
Pretty sure PU , Only headphones I know off which come with leather cups is Bang and Olufsen who use sheepskin. Not sure whar Airpod max use. Maybe some after market stuff although 'leather' products on amazon can often be PU.

Any good for Teams etc? Would be awesome to have one set for both work and personal but I found most headsets without the boom arm mic don’t have the best mic quality.
    highdon's avatar
You won't really find a good quality mic in headsets. You need to have a dedicated mic for that, preferably on a boom arm.

I've got the Bose 700. Really like them but used a friend's Sony XM4s and preferred them. Are these likely to be superior to the 700s?
    Xxavier's avatar
    Nope
  12. spankwilder's avatar
Is the hard case that comes with the 45’s available separately? I can find Bose’s EVA case.. is that it?
  13. Diogenes007's avatar
Great price OP. My QC35's are the best headphones I've ever owned. They're sooooo comfortable. Heat!

I miss my QC 35's which made way for Sony WH-1000XM4 last year. I could wear QC 35's all day and even went to sleep sometimes wearing them on the sofa or on flights. They were that comfortable. I am waiting for Bose to launch a new model so that I can switch back to Bose again, but that might be few years away realistically.

Sound quality wise, I think Bose were just a notch above Sony but if you prefer good bass, definitely go for Sony

Great headphones. Got them for £140 direct from Bose before Xmas last year by stacking student discount and the Amex offer. Quidco tracked at £10 too so potentially £130 if they eventually pay out. (edited)

Got mine for £160 with student beans discount last month, really pleased with my purchase

SE is special edition, which they have had for the 25 and 35 also ... Not misleading if people know what it means, probably important as pretty sure people would feel disappointed if they paid this for the 25 SE
    highdon's avatar
Which one is it then and what's the difference between 35 and 35 SE?
  17. TomPlatts's avatar
Tempted for these. I've been looking for a pair and can't decide despite reading loads of reviews etc. Seem to end up back where I started with the Sony XM4's.
Anyone owned both and can sway me one way or the other?
    Daws82's avatar
I have the sonys and my wife has the Bose, sony xm4 hands down is the better option, anyone who recommends the Bose are either a Bose fan boy or have no idea what they are talking about🤡

Managed to get the crushers for around 100 iirc in a sale and so glad I did

Is there anyway I could get these around £170 ish like the deal I missed out on through student discount maybe?

    Ebay.

Anybody used these on the tube? Seen similar looking ones but not sure if same model. Wonder how well it blocks noise as public transport is horrific.
  25. dustyfrog's avatar
Thanks, I was looking for new ones after my Sony XM4s started to make high pitched screeching noise
  26. hiimnewhere's avatar
    Can Bose nerf these? (edited)
    Paul_Hobbs07's avatar
    What does this mean?
  27. Paul_Hobbs07's avatar
Anyone know what these are like compared to the original qc35? My ear pads have disintegrated for the second time and the Bluetooth is starting to get flakey.
  28. DaiHowells's avatar
Has anyone got a code for additional discount? Tried the one in an above post, but it doesn’t work for me. Many thanks

Aside from being wireless, are these a big upgrade on QC25s?

How are voice calls on these ?

    Excellent

Has anyone used these wired on pc? I tried using qc25 wireless but discord was not catching voice consistently. (edited)

Just left my old qc35s in a taxi in copenhagen, so immediately purchased this. Thanks!

These sound a bit boring. I’ve the 1st gen AirPod pros and they sound more lively. I was hoping given the size they’d have a bigger sound. Not sure, but I guess the flat sound and comfortable fit lend a hand for them being good to wear for extended periods.

They also hiss in both listening modes - more so in ‘aware’ though it’s only really noticeable in pauses in sound or between tracks.

Definitely comfortable, just not convinced on the audio.
